Very good. Stephen might have won the game but I think Andy wins it with his, "He's a bit younger than Ebdon was when he smashed you" quip. As somebody else has said, I think Chris Melling would be a great guest, a good lad and he can play anything.
It's not, it's just that no matter the opponent, as long as they are fairly decent then they still have a chance of competing against players better than them. This video itself kind of proves it because despite no longer being in his prime, I would still expect Stephen to convincingly beat Andy at snooker and yet Andy is competitive against him at pool.
The rules displayed are not correct. You DO NOT have to pot the balls in numerical order, you just have to hit the lowest numbered ball on the table, you can pot any ball in any order as long as you've hit the lowest numbered ball first
Stephen Hendy's smile when he wins and the build up to winning is golden! He SO WANT TO WIN!!! He reassesses his technique and timing an the cloth he is always LEARNING and the balls the pockets the flow of the table and his focus between the banter .... He is not fooled is he! That is why his is 7 times world snooker champion! He is only HAPPY when he is winning and wins! Great to see! He LIKES toi WIN! lol
Sod off with Andy Goldstein… we want the big man, the main man, the comeback king… yes we want STEPHEN LEE!! Well overdue time that STEPHEN LEE made an appearance…. STEPHEN LEE would enhance this channel and take it to new levels!
@Guv-i5r The UNDISPUTED puff of snooker Stephen Hendry that was washed up by 30 years old in 1999 1999-2012 Hendry never won a major tournament for 12 years. From 30YO to 42YO 🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈 2005 -2012 Hendry never won a ranking tournament for 7 years . From 35YO to 42YO 🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈 The GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan has never gone 7 or 12 years without winning Ranking or TC tournament like Hendry HAHAHAHAHAHA 🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏆🐐👌
Big gay 🍀🌈Stephen Hendry all time GOAT of quitters who was whitewashed 9-0 by Marcus Campbell in 1998 when he was only 28 years old is one of the biggest bottlers in professional snooker. That's a fact. No one is even in Stephen Hendry's league in choking . The fraud of the sports bottle & greatness is a myth. We all know Ronnie O'Sullivan is the greatest & the GOAT of snooker & King of the Crucible, then its Mark Selby the 2nd greatest in snooker and Mark Selby is the GOAT of cue sports 🏆 They both own Hendry's soul H2H & in finals. Sorry to disappoint you.👍 🍀🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈👍

Never thought I'd see the day Hendry would wear a pool glove. But I wish you guys were playing in the US since their pool hall tables and balls are much better. Bar conditions are not the comparison to make to a pool tournament.
@@andrasszabo1570 So I'm only 2 years into getting into Snooker and not so much pool (hence why I'm at this channel). But I'm in the UK where I'm guessing the common format typicallyfound in pubs is English pool with the red and yellow balls. Literally never seen 9 Ball played anywhere near me
@@pkchris8211 Yeah, the UK might be the exception and China, both got their own cue sport. But anywhere else pool is the dominant cue sport and 9-ball is the most widely played format due to its simplicity. I've played pool all over Europe, but have rarely seen a table for any other cue sport.
@@ThePonce-q7q Ronnie is better in literally every way: has won more, has more records, more centuries, better century per frame average, a more complete player, better safety player, more longevity, faster player, etc etc 🚀🐐
@@ThePonce-q7q @WayneAnthonyHolmes Hendry WAS a GOOD PLAYER , but the uneducated Hendry fanboys who think he is some kind of god, and his own lack of humility vastly diminish from his appeal. With that in mind, pandering to one's ego or the emotion of the masses is ultimately irrelevant and a waste of energy. Then the lies to this day about yips etc ALL BS!.. This is why he can never be the best. This is what makes him lesser than his opponent who never brags about his greatness ,but rather down plays it. Obviously and demonstrably, there is only one greatest snooker player of all time, and he is Ronnie O'Sullivan 🐐 Why you never win 👀👀👀
@@ThePonce-q7q WAYNEGAYANTHONYPUFFHOLMES🍀🍀🍀🌈🌈🌈🌈 Is it too much to handle real snooker facts? Shall we stop upsetting you? Haha! You never win. Too small minded to make a factual comment. Ronnie O'Sullivan is the decorated player in the history of snooker GOAT🐐 Deal with it 🏆👍
Some pool tournaments you have to nominate pocket and ball so it rules out flukes. If any other ball gets potted or your nominated ball doesn't go into the nominated pocket a foul is called.
These two should do a long format of just playing and exchanging banter. How about sequentially best of 5 9-ball, Chinese 8-ball, Snooker and to top it off Three-cushion billiards first to 10 points (maybe have to workshop that last one to see how quickly these two can make points) all in a one day shoot.
Pool, especially 9 ball is surprisingly very hard game. As soon as you bump into a player who really knows their way round a 9 ball table you are in big trouble. I used to be a really good club player, then one of the countries top 9 ball players came along to play an exhibition and he wiped the floor with me and everyone else at the club.
But that is the opponent who is difficult, not the game. Yes my money would always be on the top-notch 9-ball player to beat a top-notch snooker player at 9-ball, but the snooker player will not look out of place and will still be competitive, yet it is far less likely if you flip things. Yet still several snooker players and former snooker players have successfully made the transition over to 9-ball.
@@seanscanlon9067you do realize that straight cueing is the foundation for both pool and snooker right? The best pool players shoot as straight as the best snooker players, therefor both can transition between each other and "not look out of place". Alex Pagulayan has made a 147 in a competitive snooker game. Corey Deuel almost qualified to the WST. It goes borh ways, both snooker and pool players can look decent in each other's disciplines, but can't compete on the highest level. Pool players realizes this. The snooker community is filled with smug, arrogant douchebags like you, who thinks just because the table is bigger, it means snooker is superior in every possible aspect. All other cue sports, pool, carambole, pyramide etc. has a distaste for snooker players, and it's because many of you guys are ridiculously arrogant, rude and ignorant of other cue sports. Get real dude. Snooker is a great game, and it's a gentlemen sport. So start acting like it, because you are not representing it well with how awful you behave.
@@seanscanlon9067 you keep banging on that it's so easy but you haven't defined the objective of the game. You need to be able to run all 9 balls, then do it again and again. It's easier to pot a ball on a pool table but that's an entirely irrelevant objective
@@seanscanlon9067it's like saying squash is "easier" than tennis. It probably is easier to hit the ball against the wall but it's entirely irrelevant.
@seanscanlon9067 The snooker community is largely despised by all other cue sports. Pool, carombole, pyramide, largely agrees on our dislike for snooker players. You know why? It's because you are the only community that has the delusion that just because your tables are bigger, everything is harder in snooker, and you have a elitist, arrogant and condescending attitude towards all other cue sports. There are things that is harder in snooker than in pool, like potting. But pool players are better at for example small space position play and using the rails. Pyramide is the hardest potting game, but it's probably the simplest tactics. English 8 ball players are exellent strategists and pattern players. Carombole players are superior in using the rails to control cue ball and object ball. But this is the difference; all other cue sports has respect for each other. Many snooker players are arrogant, disrespectful and completely ignorant towards other cue sports. That's why you are universally disliked by other communities. Maybe something to think about before you berate all other cue sports next time.
If you want to make those corner pockets tighter (harder), at least round the cushions off! It's the cut of the corner pockets that makes potting easy, especially along the rail! You shouldn't be able to clip the rail a foot away from the pocket and still pot it! Oh, and don't get me started on the necessity of diamonds on a table or jump-shoting to eliminate snookers. Snooker or 8-ball (Blackball) is where it's at!
Also how about Peter Ebdon, I know he retired because of back or neck problems? But even a chat would be nice, especially since you said you believe he had the weirdest cue action.
I'd like to see you play an 8-Ball match with someone like say Ronnie, after one of you's misses, a Pool pro like Gareth Potts would describe where you went wrong, and how he'd have approached the shot. Then get Gareth and say Karl Boyes to play a frame of Snooker and same idea, after a miss etc, you explain how you'd have approached it.
