I can relate very well to what Stephen is saying. As a trauma survior with ptsd , my heart absolutely breaks for Stephen & Des..but please don't forget Ray ..I saw an intervew where Ray expresses survivors guilt. He is also traumatized. Sending so much love & support to Stephen, Des & Ray. ❤❤
I played with Steve a couple of years ago in limerick and somthing people forget in the midst of all this is that he's the best bass player I've ever heard and I've played with the best in my showband days and here in 🇺🇸 the past 20 years from upstate New York to Texas not to mention the London circuit for 10 years prior.Steve does jigs and reels at the speed of sound on the bass , unheard of the man is a phenomenal all round musician humble to a fault.I must add that we have Rory Gallagher/ Gary Moore/ Henry Mcullogh (Wings and the only irish musician to perform at Woodstock )Eric Bell , and Tony Geraghty from Crumlin shot in the Miami showband massacre.Tony played with a brilliant rock band called Adolph J Rag and he was no.1 contender for the next big name guitar player right up there with all the aforementioned legends.I was fortunate enough to see him as a young teenager a few times and word is that Eric / Rory and Gary all heard about him and checked him out at the infamous Osibisa nightclub .His speed and dexterity accompanied with his originality and aggresive style was such that in a very short time his reputation preceded him .The buzz about his incredible chops was everywhere.Getting an audition with the Miami was extremly difficult and he sailed through it although they'd heard the buzz and we're delighted to get him on board.He even spawned a now legendary Ballyfermot guitar player called Gerry Hendricks a neighbor of mine on Landen rd who learned everything he knows from Tony who married his sister Linda. A legend in the making who would've been recognized the world over today had he not been so cruelly taken away at such an early age.
