It’s 2:02AM and I’ve just had a realisation! I think that Stephen Lies and Dave Raves are materialised segments from suggestions made by Karl Pilkington on the Ricky Gervais Podcast. Karl proposes a segment called “Con Merchant”, which is like a call my bluff segment - mildly similar to Stephen Lies, and “Whine Merchant” where Steve Merchant is encouraged to speak about things that have been annoying him - mildly similar to Dave Raves! I'm glad Tom mentioned he only started doing the high pitched Yorkshire accent due to Max etc At one point I had to listen less as I started doing the voice day to day & people would just look at me blankly

I remember in my school drama group... No matter what the set scenario was - My character ALWAYS died 😂
