In case your wondering like I was.....In the unfortunate event someone passes away without a will, if there is a surviving spouse in most cases they will inherit 50% of the separate property, while the remaining 50% will pass to the deceased's children, parents, siblings, and other relatives - according to California's intestate succession law..

Unfortunately depression makes you think and believe that you are not worth of anything and anyone good... and that everyone is better off without you... It makes you truly believe that it is better for everyone, even your own children, if you are not around anymore 😢 So actually loving your children deeply, if you are severely depressed makes you believe that you being gone is the best that could happen to them... Not sure how American law works but this is crazy if the spouse would receive everything. I'm glad our law is not like that. It is 50% to the spouse and the other half to the children. You realise the problems with giving everything to a spouse right. 1. If your spouse now gets married again and is not wise enough to have a prenup and gets divorced, they now literally share everything you left behind and your kids are disadvantaged. 2.if you had kids prior to your marriage, those kids inherit absolutely nothing from their father

Robin Williams is a little different because there was a lot more to his situation..he was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's Disease when it really was Lewy Bodies Dementia and there was already quite a bit of damage to the brain which causes severe symptoms. I'm very sorry about your dad.

I’ve read that people who commit suicide in their home’s are being selfish because their children or spouse are the one’s who find them but the really selfish part is that they don’t consider what finding them dead will do to that person especially a child also the spouse usually is the one who has to clean up whatever way they choose to commit suicide. I don’t know if that’s true but I think I would feel shock at first then loss and maybe some anger because that person left me to deal with the way they chose to die.

It’s is not to live for our benefit and or feelings. Depression is a chokehold that doesn’t release its grip. You have highs and you have lows. It’s one reason he left the home and went to a motel in hopes someone else would find him. Most times they feel they are doing the other party a favor in not to burden them down. Depression never goes away but you find outlets to manage it with therapy.❤

Legally, the spouse comes first, and the kids 2nd. In her case, the 2 younger kids are hers, but he does have an older daughter from a previous relationship. In this case, they may have fit his oldest daughter in there legally somewhere, which would have been very kind and thoughtful 🥰

This is a tough call. Obviously he was tortured and under deep emotional duress. He disengaged from the world completely including family, friends, legal or psychiatric help. So we will never know his wishes. We only have her word to rely on. Is she the femme fatale or the damsel in distress? We may never know.
