Lawyer, author, professor and Supreme Court expert Stephen Vladeck-author of the new book The Shadow Docket-exposes the Court’s increasing reliance on secretive judicial processes that permit typically public hearings and discussions to occur behind closed doors. Having argued multiple cases before the Supreme Court himself, Vladeck explains how the Court’s expanded use of the “shadow docket” has enabled cryptic late-night rulings that leave the public without explanation for decisions affecting everything from immigration to COVID vaccine mandates.
A University of Texas law professor and CNN’s lead Supreme Court analyst, Vladeck joins us to talk about the important issues raised in his book as well as the biggest cases facing the Court this term.

Professor Vladeck shares his analysis of how the court exerts its conservative bias by manipulating its bureaucratic prerogatives. he expresses quantifiable observations that become very obvious when he points them out. The current supreme court cannot hide from his careful eyes 👀 thank you Professor Vladeck for explaining what we are seeing and living through 😮

This country is paying a very steep price for letting a criminal nominate candidates for justices on the supreme court. He choose other liars who political backers secured their jobs. Now they don't get why they are so disrespected.

In some important ways, Chief Justice Roberts is like Mitch McConnell. Yes, he's a bedrock conservative. But he also believes in the institutions themselves.

CNN and California lawyers: could this be anything but far left?

Or, maybe it's just facts? Gotta get facts from any source you can and form your own opinion, brother. I'm not keen on what we've been hearing about Justice Clarence Thomas, for example, taking all those under the table gifts. That doesn't sound like the path to fair and balanced justice, does it? edit: Oh, say, brother, I forgot to mention. You don't need to worry about CNN any more. It is no longer centrist/left. It is now owned and controlled by a full on Trump supporter. That change of ownership happened in 2022. So CNN is now pivoting to basically be FOX #2. No more liberal info there. Rest assured. Many don't realize that ownership and control changed.

The general view of CNN is objective and non-biased. California legal community cannot be lumped together as left of center. There are too many nuances.

NPR made this guy an expert for a story of the fight of the federal government against the efforts of Texas to protect itself over the overflow of illegal border crossings. Obviously Vladeck sided with the federal government pontificating that Texas has no constitutional argument since "this is not an invasion." An invasion, he decided, has to contain the element of an "armed attack by an organized party. Migrants crossing the border without authorization - that's just never been understood to meet that definition." Never mind that millions of people, primarily young men, are FORCING their way in, overwhelming our government services and changing the character of our country. For "legal experts" like this guy Jan 6th was an insurrection even though it was not an armed attack and was not carried out by an organized party but this deluge of illegal immigrants is not an invasion even though there are organized efforts to flood our borders with as much migrants as possible in organized caravans and many of those who are crossing over are members of violent gangs . Not to mention that the whole ordeal is benefiting drug cartels. NPR knows who to turn to in misleading its rather naive and uncritical audience in its leftist narrative about what's going on at the border which it anyway reports about very, very rarely deciding it's nothing worth noting.
