I think this playoffs and the Celtics this year proved that team basketball and defense with 2 cohesive stars can be very dominant and that’s what kind of style that pop proved years ago with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. I think that’s what he’s going for again and what he’s trying to get and find. This spurs team has a ton of potential in my eyes.

@@leviuzumaki3903Celtics were way more than 2 stars. They had 3 guys average 20ppg in the regular season. One of the best defensive guards in the league in Jrue, and another top 3&D player in White. Plenty of talented other player to fill in around them. Whole team can shoot and defend.

@@frankiethefrog1752 buddy im a Celtics fan, it was 2 stars and 3 high level highly efficient and high end role players and they were a team built with a high focus on defense. 😐 the stars were Jayson Tatum and Jaylen brown the role players that could turn it up when needed were jrue, porzingus and Derrick white they played their role scored when they needed to shot threes when they were open and fit their way into the offense and their role perfectly and then put a majority of their focus on the defensive end. Idk if you watched Celtics games much but that’s what they did, jayson Tatum ran the offense a majority of the time all regular season and orchestrated the offense taking turns with Jaylen brown and occasionally jrue Holliday but for most of the possessions they ran all season it went through Jayson Tatum and Jaylen brown. Porzingus got the ball when he had a mismatch got a rebound/put back or an open 3 on a pick in fade. He still put a majority of his focus on the defensive end and playing his role on the team. That is the definition of 2 stars and 3 role players although they are all elite level role players, and elite defenders as are Jaylen brown and Jayson Tatum… 😐.

Also you say he averaged 20? So all of a sudden the nba finals is the only thing you care about? He averaged 12 ppg in the regular season. He turnt up when he needed to turn up like a role player should that’s the literal definition of a role player, the dude played great and has always been super underrated in my opinion however it doesn’t change the fact that he is a role player, he plays his role focuses on defense and turns up his game when asked lol. Derrick white is also a role player in that regard.

Spurs wouldn't have taken him if they didn't want to play him at PG. Castle made it very clear that he didn't want to join a team that wasn't looking for a PG.

He played PG all through HS. Didn't do it in college because he didn't mind taking an off ball role. He will surprise you at the 1 mark my words

Sure he can defend but if he can't shoot he's never going to be even a serviceable guard in the NBA never mind star. At BEST he might become an Alex Caruso type player in the NBA.
