I can not just translate all of them for you, and I have to apologize. The summary for the show is the story he started to live in Beijing and serve the Beijing Jinyu team. Everybody likes him for his dedication and humbleness. He made his mind to lead Beijing to a champion and act as both the team leader on field and off field. He wants to be a coach in China, so he sorta started to practiced to teach other young players skills, which made the coach very happy.
all the Chinese love Marbury we trust him like him and hope he can stay at China in future ! although i am not in China right now i still watch his match in malaysia ! love is love ,love is for Marbury !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
getting paid a few millions is better then not getting paid at all, players that never had a chance to go to the nba should try out in other countries that are willing to paid a few millions to play the game they love.
He said he enjoy the life in Beijing and feels the fans of Bejing is the best. He said he is a Beijing boy and loves this City. Now, he is a hero in Beijing. Some NBA teams invite him back after he got the campion, but he told them "No thanks". I can't translate all the comments to you, but "Marbury is a hero for us!" and "Marbury is awesome!" is the truly feeling for Marbury in Beijing people's mind and most comments meaning.
Happy for him... Had it bad in the nba after them sneakers he made dropped... a lot of things was coincidental with his downfall in the NBA. Great player during his time.. Just glad he found solace playing basketball again internationally.
I don't understand the commentator, so please provide translation if you can! I just want to hear what the Chinese people think of Marbury and what his life is like in China! Thanks
@newagepun yeah I agree with most of what you said. It happens a lot when you want stardom and "be" the guy. Marbury still helped NY and other states by releasing affordable sneakers with the same quality as these other stars that release their sneakers about 200 times the actual cost. If I remember correctly though after that trade other good, solid role playing dudes came along that year with Kidd. But yeah kid is a class by himself he's actually gotten better by age and that a unheard of these
At around 8:10, they are talking about how every day Marbury takes the subway to practice at around the same time, and how he always bumps into the same people on the subway every day in roughly the same seats, etc. Just to let you guys know, lol.
At around 9:33, they talk about how Marbury gets along with his new coach, and contrast it with the tumultuous relationship he had with his old coach during his NY Knicks days.
Man, I don't know about Minnesota. He was a one-two punch with KG there. If Marbury would've stayed, they could've made at least one NBA Finals. I'm sure the Timberwolves would've made adjustments to better players to go to that core.
Around 13:12, they talk about how the Beijing Ducks have missed the postseason 4 out of the last 5 years, and how they had suffered from low self-confidence before Marbury's arrival.
@Ramone DeCurta gotta agree with you there. I think his career average was 20ppg 8 plus assist, dude was just hard headed and play with some really bad teams. If he would of stay there Garnet and him probably would of been great duo maybe championship seeing as the twolves back then were always making the playoffs.
One of the most talented PG's ever to play the game! Between Him, AI and Steve Francis...what happened to those guys. They were all the same talent, with the same reputation. But Stephon's rep was undeserved, and he was an inch better than AI and Francis because of his outside shooting ability and versatility. Derrick Rose reminds me of those three.
can you please upload more videos of marbury in china? i'd love to see his daily life, like what and where he eats, hanging out with his friends, etc. thanks
I think he was not strong mentally either. A real team leader would evolve and try play through bad situations while instilling their will on their teammates. Marbury wasn't that kind of player. More so when he goes to a big market team and he pressure was mounting on him from a bad situation. Not surprising how Jason Kidd helped propel the nets to a championship team after the trade and Starbury showed only stats.
from @5:14 to 5:32 whateva they are telling you... I real because that triangle of people led to the Demise of Stephon in NY.. only other heel missing is 'Antoni. Quentin, Thomas and Antoni.. Everybody thinks he had all this Talent in pho and Minny round him.. Phoenix had no veterans when Steph got there and Marion and Stat were babies... No matter how good phonei or Minny had become. they weren't beating the bulls, Lakers, San an.. Stern had favorites and Dynasties.. If nash is so better than Marbury.. Why he never beat San Antonion as a Mav or a Sun? West had a tough pecking order. When Stephony got to any.. Sprewell was gone, Camby Gone, Childs, Larry Johnson, Gone.. Only a gimby Houston, Old Mutombo, Othella Harrington, Clarence Weatherspoon.. Penny.. But the media thought he was supposed to win a championship with that. Knicks was still paying Luc Longley,L Johnson and Houston for bloated contracts. They was over the capp for years.. When they got free.. They overpaid for Quentin Richardson who stole Money.. over 68 million worth. on the strength of being strickly a shooter for Nash's suns. When he came to NY.. The media as always thought he was better than advertise because of the bloated number plyers averaged in Phoenix in 'Antonio's offense. Marbury...smh!! man he was crucified for telling the media he believes he is better than Steve Nash after he Scorched him.. I was never mad at steph for believing in himself... but he was supposed to be political correct and agree with the great white hope.. He fell out of line and his game was forever criticized for not making anybody better which is bullshit..
THere is not much leading for him. If they cannot guard him, he will torch the opposition at will. If anything there is more skill involved in actually playing away from the ball and setting your teammates up, something Marbury was never known to do so no surprise that Marbury is putting up big numbers in the chinese league. Rasheed Wallace came back from retirement because no bigs in the nba now can defend in the paint. Ironic since wallace's isn't even known for his post game.
Yeah because becoming super rich is accomplishment in life. You can have all the money in the world but if you aren't happy, then whats the point? Marbury is happy in China. If you can't do it in America? WTF. How does a accomplishing anything in a certain country define a person? PS: He did accomplish in America. Tbh, he has done more than J lin has in the NBA. (For now)
Lol? 5 games a season? He didn't do good all season he only did good for 5-6 games and that's all. If he carried them to the top then the Knicks would be in the Finals instead of the Heat.
If he's playing against "lesser skilled players" [sic], then he is also playing WITH lesser-skilled players. It takes a tremendous amount of skill, patience and leadership for a player with superior talent to lead lesser-skilled players to a title. The ironic part is that he has become the leader in China that coaches always wanted him to be in the NBA. I would like to see him come back to the U.S. and finish his career with the Lakers, Clips, Mavs or Heat.
