These two have made cool files before, and it shows really well!
So, the main hurdle for this file was recreating the use of command noteskins. I've done it here through lua-based notefields (I'll call them "luafields") Also. I've made it so you could theme the parts like fake arrows and receptors!
(full disclosure, this video is made up of two: video of a run without pulseaudio active (having it active caused some slight delays), and audio coming from a second run. I don't know how well it'll work on Windows and Mac...)
Visual changes:
Replications of mods in the luafields may be slightly inaccurate...
Mod changes:
Several hours/days worth of abusing Sudden & Hidden to replicate noteskin switches. (and gaining a slight hate of Wave)
Made use of StealthType and Column-specific Stealth.
Changed one use of sudden to hidden, and changed the offset to 200 instead of 100.
Also, the usual use of Sudden and SuddenOffset.
Scaled Bumpy and one case of Flip+Invert to be based on sdwidth.
Internal changes:
Implemented luafield based off of kioku and mawaru9. Changes include:
- Modifiers (Beat, Wave, Combination CMod & XMod, Drunk, Tornado, Tipsy, Parabola, Tipsy, Bumpy, Dizzy)
- Per-note glows
- Blending settings
- Faster update rate (0.5/60 instead of 0.02)
- Slightly different chart table to allow for shenanigans
-- (This resulted in no need for quantization functions)
- Able to be themed (by default, it looks like metal in the download)
- Receptor position matches the actual notefield's positions
This replaces DivinEntity and Command noteskins.
Did ratio abuse to scale:
- Positioning
- Movement
- Zooms
- Zoomtos
- BitmapText maxwidth
- Some actor effects
Unconverted some positions and control values
Had to un-name some actors...
Made existing fake receptors fit theme used by the luafield.
Also made existing fake receptors match actual notefield positions.
Made fakeout notes also match luafield theme.
Dealt with actor functions that didn't get converted.
Main update loop becomes (1/60) instead of 0.02
Used escape characters to allow " to show up in text.
Did some sleep, basezoom and position abuse on judgment+combo.
Replaced note rotation with ConfusionOffset.
Replaced Blind with MessageCommands.
Attempted to make the file be able to run if only one player exists.
Dealt with Lambda's old combo tweens.
Did some wrapper state abuse on both the notefields and luafields.
'Fixed' one case of combo placement not being -'ed.
Replaced ApplyGameCommand with FromString and PlayerOptions functions.
Moved some fgchanges to be after FromString.
Moved hud to be above all actors because of how draw ordering works (not shown in video. whoops)
