Thanks dude, I checked out your channel and absolutely loved the latest vid you posted. I don’t play plo, dont fully understand the theory, but the commentary and storyline was compelling and entertaining. Keep it up hombre
Nice to see some run good! Pro tip: Buy more chips than one buy-in at the cage, so you don't have to flash cash and draw unnecessary attention to yourself, and slow the game down. Better yet, start keeping some chips on you/at home and just color up when you are done playing so you have to go to the cage as little as possible. It's so much easier to reload when all you have to do is pull some big chips from your pocket. Not to mention, there are times when the game is exceptionally good and you will want to "go north" (add-on for more than the maximum buy-in -- you might think "that's against the rules" till you see someone else get away with it, stack the whale, the game breaks, and there's nothing you can do about it). Do it for your own safety! You don't want every degenerate in the casino seeing that 1) you are a regular player/poker professional, and 2) that always has a good chunk of cash on them. You never know when one of these guys will be desperate enough to do something stupid, and you want to avoid being a "soft target" with patterns that are easily observable (what time you play, what time you quit, where you park, what you drive, what path you take through the casino and into the parking lot, where you live). Don't be naive! If you've never heard a story of someone being followed home from a casino and robbed or murdered for a few thousand dollars, or you think "not me, I'm an upcoming RU-vid vlogger," then look into what happened to Darren Elias (4-time WPT champ). Hell, you don't even have to have cash on you to become a potential target -- you just need a degenerate to THINK you have cash. Your best bet is to try to be as inconspicuous as possible. Try to avoid making too many friends in these places. It's your job, not your recreation. Every detail of your personal life you share with someone is going to circulate around to their friends and their friends' friends. The less they know, the better. There are pretty women there. Maybe one of them might even find you interesting. Don't do it! Keep your love affairs away from business/out of the office. This shit will eventually turn sour and then all your dirty laundry is going to be out in the open, and it's going to impact your ability to show up to work. Keep your personal and work lives separate as much as you can. STAY FOCUSED on your objective.
Great advice. As someone who makes there living from this game as well, I knew and follow a lot of those tips, but there are a couple I’m definitely going to add! Thanks a ton bro
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad someone appreciated it. There are certainly some lessons I wish I had learned in there before I had to learn them the hard way (particularly the last one). Anyway, in case anyone is wondering about what happened with Darren Elias, I'm pretty sure I remember him talking about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C412h5kdZ5I.html Basically, some degen, probably on drugs, who got himself into debt, thought it would be a good idea to go to Darren's house to try and rob him at gun-point. Only Darren wasn't home; he was out with his wife; and his kid was home with a babysitter. Even though everyone is okay, you can imagine much worse case scenarios and, albeit, the trauma that this event has caused his entire family and babysitter (she had a gun to her back IIRC and was eventually locked in the bathroom - not sure where the kid was during all this).
Dude you’re killing it in every department on and off the table. Well except girls I guess, but keep crushing like that and I’m sure that will turn around 😂
Just flew up from Jacksonville, going to be playing the next 11 days in New hampshire & mass. Boston bill.,Seabrook maybe chasers & encore. Maybe I'll see ya. Aaron B. From bestbet.
I've been watching all your vids. Love how you show both winning and losing hands. We get to see what it's "actually" like when we play. Great videos. Keep it up.
Corey man I'm rooting for you as are all of us I think. Your losing streak makes me feel like I'm getting punched in the gut. Of course we all relate. Your set of 8s fold on the flop was very disciplined. I personally don't know if I could have done it. Congrats on the W
Completely enjoy your content, humor and analysis. Keep up the good work. I suspect you will at some point be offered an Ambassador's role from WSOP or other affiliation like Brad Owens.
Not sure what I'd do with 88 on Ts9d8s, but probably depends on how stuck and frustrated or disciplined I was (to be honest), but giving villain a realistic reasonable range of: "99-TT,QJs,QJo,76s,AsJs,KsJs,Th9h,Th8h,9h8h" you've got 44.82% equity. And then I'd probably even add another 5% for something you're just not expecting like all combos of JT, and/or other combos of just bare nut flush draws... and then because it's live, I might even add another 5% because you just see some of the most absurd shit live, especially when pots start getting big -- people get desperate to win them. So, it's probably more likely that you've got closer to 50% equity here, give or take. If you can deal with the loss (financially and, more importantly, emotionally -- it won't tilt you at all to lose, whether ahead or behind) then I guess you ought to flick it in and make the call as you won't find many spots where you may have as much as 15-20% +EV on a $2.2k pot. I think, in practice I've done the same and just put villain on QJ all the time here and folded too much, but not anymore. Thoughts?
I think it’s heavily player dependent. This guy was a rec, clearly raising strong hands limping weak ones. Half the hands you mention all feel like raises preflop. It didnt feel like 76 for a second, just put him on QJ and nothing but. Maybe thats silly to put him on specific holdings, range v range yadayada but idek if this dude does that with 2p. If others players folded, this guy could have a lot more stuff like aggressively-played flush draws. However, with 2 other callers, im assuming one of them has a pair, other prob has a flush draw
When you had the pocket 5s you should have been saying out loud Luke Skywalker...let's see Luke Skywalker.Luke Skywalker being (Red 5 standing by)....what can I love obscure trash table talk when nobody gets it.
I'm just not sure about folding a set here. You're dead even if he has a straight, but if there's just the tiniest AsQs or similar stuff in his range (which you're crushing) then you're comfortably +EV to stick it in.
@@leehjones he limp called pre - if he had AQss, he's raising preflop. QJo makes the most sense. I think a flop chk makes the most sense, but we learn and move on also thanks Joseph!
Maybe QJ makes the most sense to you here, but v can have JT, two spades, two pair. You were right this time, but I think you are wrong enough, especially considering your odds are so close assuming that he has the absolute nuts, that it's a call. It worked out though this time.
video stopped at 46 seconds for this comment: if ANYONE can best a loss rate of $2700/hr, you are in the top ONE of likely candidates!!!! HAHAHA....back to video!!!
I really really enjoy your vlogs but for some reason hearing you say chef's kiss over and over and over again every episode is honestly annoying the hell out of me....... Maybe it's just me and it's your blog so of course do whatever you want but if you could change it up a little bit more I would be much more inclined to like and subscribe
you should complete your about section of your channel for individuals who want to offer you a business opportunity or just create a separate gmail account for the same and list it
