As a traveller, whenever we arrive to a new place we follow the voices of locals and try explore the top recommended destinations. People overwhelmingly cried out: go to Batu Caves, so we had to check it out!
It was a beautiful day, and after we arrived we were hit with an invigorating energy. It was still early in the morning, but the area was filling up with tourists, locals, trades people and the devout, all finding their way to the top of the over 270 steps leading into the caves.
The Batu Caves is truly a special spot, and we encourage everyone to put it on their Must Visit bucket list.

Once you've done with KL, go out to Penang, Malacca and maybe Sabah and Sarawak.

@Math Chand Relax. No need to say word stupid. I wasn't being rude just by suggesting locations after they finished visiting Kuala Lumpur. There are many suggestions by others on what to do in Kuala Lumpur so I gave something else. Stop being triggered easily.

I guess there are much more tourists visiting Batu Caves than other world famous ancient temples like Angkor Watt and Borubudur

Hey Twojays Stepaway! The tune Follow The Trail by Future Joust is lit, a throwback to the 80s, which is awesome! The best time to visit Batu Caves is during Thaipusam. The festival commemorates the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a Vel "spear" so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. During this time, you will see devotees with pierced skin, tongue or cheeks with vel skewers carrying milk pots or kavadis as a ceremonial sacrifice and offering emphasizing debt bondage. The Kavadi itself is a physical burden through which the devotees implore for help from Murugan. Next year Thaipusam will be on 21st January. Just giving you a heads up if you decide to visit Malaysia again! 😅 And yes, you have my unwavering support for your channel... who wouldn’t ? I had a blast watching it! 😊
@TwojaysStepaway

Oh wow, thank you for providing such wonderful details about Thaipusam - I love learning new things about different cultures (I am a huge fan of storytelling, so I love it when history meets mythology). While we will probably not be in Malaysia at the end of January, I will keep this festival in mind for future visits :) There is so much to see here, so I'm sure we will want to come back at some stage. Thank you so much!

KL is an amazing city. But you should also see other sides of Malaysia. The beaches, other states streets & street foods. Should give Penang, Ipoh, Malacca, Perhentian / Redang Island or Langkawi Islnd a visit. If you need a breath of cooler fresh air, go to Cameron Highland & Genting Highland. Cooler & cleaner air and weather over there.

You guys ! I recommend you guys to go to : Putrajaya. There, you can go to putrajaya parks , such as : -putrajaya botanical garden -putrajaya wetland park Also, you can have mosque tour which is very interesting. The main mosques are: - putra mosque putrajaya - “masjid besi” You might consider to have a relaxing dinner or early dinner at this eatery at “Ayer@8” putrajaya. Eat while enjoyibg the view of lakeside. The restaurant i recommend is “Slero d timur” cuz they serve the best thai and malay food fusion. Dont forget to order their “spicy mud crab noodle”

Thank you so much :) While I have enjoyed the other countries we visited this year, Kuala Lumpur is really shaping up to be my favourite city. There's just something so magical about this city (and I know I say that about almost every other place, but KL feels like home; I don't know what it is though. I blame all the iced teas, coffees & juices...)

Hey again guys. Great video just like the previous two! I hope you did get to participate in the Merdeka celebrations in Putrajaya yesterday. In case you don't already know, it's the administrative capital of Malaysia and the first so-called intelligent city in the world. And remember to check out those man made pyramids I suggested lol. I'm sure you will like it there.

islamic veritas Somehow this year's celebration is a bit shorter n less pompous. Short n simple nonetheless still amazing n exciting. Probably cos it's a Friday where the majority Muslims had to perform their Friday prayers mid afternoon.

@TwojaysStepaway 6 лет назад
Aww thank you! That is really nice of you to say :) We really don't like imposing or annoying anyone - just a habit we've picked up (or it's our personalities - I dunno!). As for the trains, you would not believe how lucky we were. We got to the station with a good 20 minutes to spare heading to the caves, and when we left, the train doors closed a good 5 seconds after we got on - I see the scheduling is a bit off because of the maintenance they're doing on the rails, but I'm just happy there is a train going at all! In South Africa, getting around is a bit more tricky :( I'm so in awe of the public transportation in Kuala Lumpur.

Hello. Great videos. I am flying to Kuala Lumpur next week!. So excited, but I'm worried that it will rain in September?. Please tell me if the weather will be good, will it rain :(? Staying there for 9 nights
@TwojaysStepaway
@TwojaysStepaway 6 лет назад
Hello! And thanks :D We hope you enjoy your visit, this city is amazing. I don't really have a lot of knowledge about the weather systems in KL, but from our experience we've had a few really strong (but short) tropical thunder storms with some rain. I would pack or grab an umbrella/poncho just in case. A quick search on Google says you can expect on average 11 days of rainfall during the month of September, which isn't too bad 😀
@emersonchua98
@emersonchua98 6 лет назад
Hey, I wanna ask that did you have to buy tickets to access to the cave? Cuz I have been searching it around and I’m not sure if we need buy a ticket or not to be able to get into it
@TwojaysStepaway
@TwojaysStepaway 6 лет назад
Hey there, the only cost you need to account for is the train ticket to get there (if you're not staying in the area already). The train tickets are really cheap, roughly 5 MYR return per person from KL Sentral Station - just check the timetable for the trains (when we went there was a train leaving roughly every hour). There was no charge to get into the caves. Enjoy the visit, the caves are really beautiful :)

actually, most hindu temples are living temples, a bustling area for commerce and worship existing side by side, you could have gone and worshipped there, with your cameras, all is a celebration, and importantly, you can visit a temple even in a two piece or nude, there are no such dress codes and restrictions, they are just today's societal norms.
