Mam I have doubt and so much struggling to know the actual answer, it would be a great help for me .. they say ceramics are suitable for forming a mould into which molten metal or alloy is cast.. but how ceramic will form a mould, won't it get fully filled into a mould, after burn out of wax ? Then how we gonna place molten metal into ceramic mould ?
Yes true, ceramic is now used to form molds for casting metals. The main advantage is it gives excellent finish and fine detail to the casting. It just forms the mold like other investment materials in liquid form around the pattern. It contains ceramic powder with phosphate containing binder which forms a gel / colloid. After setting, it hardens. After wax burn out it forms a mold cavity. the main disadvantage is during casting process, when the molten metal is in the mold, the ceramic mold may suffer creep and may lead to distortion in casting.(disadvantage). I am sure you got your answer! Wishing you Good Luck 🌻
@@drshwetaprostho6301 Heartily Thanking you mam for your best wish 🥰❤️ and same to u may God bless u with good health and prosperity ..Mam, is it like firstly we make a layer of ceramic from outside on wax pattern fully and then put it into investment material for burn out, so then wax pattern will melt and ceramic will adhere to metal ?
