Hey first of all thanks for making this video make me feel better knowing tgere is help outhere. Well appreciated. we're can I get more information about this product I would like to buy it. I suffer from drop foot on my left foot. I'm in Buena park california
Hi Wes, so which AFO would you say is the best the Stepsmart or the TurboMed? I have just recently being diagnosed with dropfoot after a brain op. I like the look of the stepsmart becasue it is well hidden apposed to the TurboMed which is more on show.
Hi. My views exactly, I like the Turbomed because it's good for some activities I like to do, gives you comfort for your foot as it fits on the outside. At the same time I don't always like to have my disability exposed. I'm afraid it's your choice, whatever works for you.
Hi I am saving up to get one of these , I have not been able to walk properly without a big brace on my leg and one on my foot for 5 years I can’t wait to try it , I really hope it works as I have hardly any muscle on my leg now , I really am looking forward to walking again
Sally Sharp That’s funny I ordered one from my brace store as well, but when I discover this I didn’t want to wait I’m wearing a white stiff afo now I just videod my walk I hope it improves
I might have missed it but what is your DX? I have drop foot and the one I have is big and bulky and I have to buy a larger size shoe and wide. Then they're to big for my other foot. Oh Lord in the summer it's hot. I'm looking for something lighter.
@@CarolynMcBride0220 Ah ok, Basically at the age of 17 my leg snapped at my knee tearing my nerves which left me with footdrop. The Dr's at the time could not explain much, so I had to adapt myself.
@@walkingwithwes6516 I am sorry to hear that. I got drop foot from of all places physical therapy. I damaged my sciatic nerve while being pushed to do more exercises. I'm glad the step smart works for you. Walking looked like you had a very good gait. I'm always off kilter and almost falling. Thank you for talking with me. It's hard to find anyone with drop foot as well as talk to them. All the best!
@@CarolynMcBride0220 Your PT sounds like an idiot! I do not use the Step Smart much, I find other braces help me better. If you need more support try the FB group "People with Foot Drop"
Walking with WES sorry for the late reply I can't move my foot at all due to compression of some nerves I slept for a couple of hours in an awkward position. Would this device still work thank you for replying
Yes I am asking about the size that you purchased. I purchased the small size, but notice that the back part of my left heel presses against the back part of the foot plate, which causes unnecessary pain and discomfort. I will be exchanging my braces for the large size soon, and I hope that will solve my pain and discomfort issues.
Hiii Wes..thanks for your videos..my friend has foot drop nd walks just like u ..d one u showed in ur video" walk without braces". Can u please sugggest which braces he should use since he has similar walk like u..i mean which one u find d best ...plz do reply
Hi Bhanu - I cannot recommend the perfect brace for your friend, as everybody is different and what suits some people may not suit others! Ask your friend to watch my videos and see what he/she likes best from what I have reviewed.
Hi - I really can't answer that, I suppose that's for you to try for yourself - make sure you are safe though. I manage to drive with all the braces I have used.
sir my father having no feel on his feet and he cant feel from his knees down can you please tell me what can do regarding this he has been wearing a normal brace but he has to walk with a stick and outside he has to have someone to help him can you please help me regarding this matter ?
Walking with WES I have drop foot and been thinking about buying a brace for myself and I liked to see you with the air max 90 on because that's all I wear and it seem to fit well with the brace. Thank you for the video.
