I just given a Bell & Howell stereo camera, which isn't exactly the same, obviously. However, your presentation has been extremely helpful! Your thoroughness is greatly appreciated. 😃
That's great! Bell & Howell made three stereo cameras through their subsidiary, the Three Dimension Company. I have these cameras also, and would be happy to help answer any questions you might have about your specific camera. Glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for checking it out! Dave
Thank you for this video. It's very helpful. The manual is complicated to operate the camera correctly. Stereo slide photography captures a moment in time like nothing else on earth.
Thanks Andrew. Agreed! Stereo slide photography is still the most “Realist” ic way to capture a scene! My next video will be out very shortly. Keep shooting!
Awesome! I’m sure you will enjoy creating amazing images with your Stereo Realist! If you have any questions that come up once you start shooting with it, let me know. Always available to help out. Have fun with it!
Hey Rene. Glad you found it helpful! Hope you enjoy shooting with your Realist! If you have any further questions about anything, just let me know. Happy to help out!
Hi Richard, Glad you found the video helpful and that you are going to start shooting stereo! I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. Let me know if you have any further questions. Happy to provide any additional information you might need. Have fun with it!! Dave
Thanks Dave - extremely helpful :-) I have inherited a Stereo Realist from my parents as well as about 2,000 stereo slides which are a wonderful archive. I thought it was about time I had a go at taking some photos with it myself - I'd forgotten how fiddly film cameras are to deal with!
Hey Andy, Glad to hear you are looking to do some shooting with your Realist! I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. That's awesome that you also have that you have all those stereo slides. What a treasure! Love to hear more about what they are of and if they are in good condition. Do you have a working stereo viewer also? Let me know if you have any further questions about the camera or if you need to get a viewer. Happy to help out! Dave
@@andyturner7452 Hey Andy. Great to hear you shot your first roll! Love to hear how they came out when you get them developed. Check back and let me know. Yes, you can use flash, but how you do it will depend on what you want to use, ie modern flash vs original flash with bulbs. Most aren’t going to shooting with bulbs, but there still are bulbs kicking around. For modern flash there are a couple options. If you want to email me at davepichette825@gmail.com, We can discuss in better detail. Hope your first roll is a success!! Dave
Dave...Many thanks. Best video ever. I was able to follow you very well. Many other tutorials are awful and cannot understand what teacher is saying. Your enunciation is fabulous. so thanks again. How can I follow you?? I am a retired dentist at 88 years old. I am looking forward to getting back to Stereo after many years away. I am using a flash.
Hey Dr. Wilner. Thanks so much! Glad you found the video helpful! Hit the subscribe button under the video and then you will be able to follow me and you will be alerted to my upcoming videos. Great to hear you are going to start shooting stereo again! You must have a great historical perspective and probably many interesting stereo slides. If you have any further questions as you get started, let me know. I'll be happy to help answer them. Have fun getting back into stereo!! Dave
Hi Dr. Wilner. Just checking in to see if you have done any shooting with your Realist? I'd be interested to hear how its going, and also to hear your insight on your shooting experiences from years ago. Thanks again! Dave
Hi Katherine. Glad you found the video helpful! Have fun shooting with your Stereo Realist! If you have any further questions, let me know. Happy to help answer them. Thanks for watching! Dave
maybe i missed it but what viewer do you specially recommend that is available on ebay and do you have to use mounts? Excellent operation video of camera but how do you view these??
Yes, you do have to mount the images into stereo slide mounts. The stereo slides are then viewed in a stereo viewer to see the images in 3D! There are several different kinds of stereo viewers available for sale on ebay. The most common stereo viewers available on ebay are the Realist viewers and the Kodak Kodaslide viewers. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching! Dave
