My Program is Lackluster at best. Fortunately, I am an experienced LPN of 15 years. We currently do not have a Skills Instructor. I explained to the fill-in I did not need practice on IM injections just watch me and sign off. She was offended.. I recommended your lectures to some students to help them successful complete the Program. You guys are 100% better. THANKS.👍

What side does the sterile box go on ? Bc when you set the drape out if it’s on the right then as you take items out your arm is going over the items that were previously set out but if it’s on the left you’re reaching over the field but not the items… it makes no sense
Unless you’re wearing a suit I’m confused on how you’re not reaching over the field? With nursing trays you put them in a corner. If you’re right handed you’d pull an item out and put it on the left side of the drape bc if you put it on the right side you’d break sterility bc your arms would be going over the previous items you took out. Or if you’re right handed do you put it on the right side ?
If you have done something to the field as a whole (e.g., turned your back, reached over it, dropped something onto it) then you need to throw it away and start over.

Surgical sterility is where a sterile field is set up and maintained, strict sterile technique is performed, sterile equipment is used, etc. Medical asepsis is just the idea of performing hand hygiene, using clean gloves off the wall (not sterile gloves), and doing things like scrubbing the hub with alcohol, etc. --Meris
