The Sterling Alternator Protection Device protects the alternator from voltage spikes resulting from loose cables, a blown fuse or an electrical shut off from the engine. All these things can cause an alternator to be disconnected from the battery while running resulting in a destroyed alternator. This APD unit is easy to retro fit to a standard system and is available for 12 or 24V alternators.
