Sterling by Music Man Ray 35 Overview 

I just purchased this bass!!! I'm excited!!! It will arrive in a couple of days. I love Fender basses, but I once had a Ernie Ball 4 string sting ray, which I loved, but unfortunately, my apartment was robbed, and it was stolen, I always wanted another MM, but couldn't afford it. Well, the Sterling gives me a chance to own a Music Man once again! I love the sound it has, and I always wanted a bass with a natural finish, this bass allows me to finally own one. ( The natural finish basses always seem to be more expensive)! This review gives me a chance to see and hear what I'm in store for!!! THANKS

I did ordered this Bass yesterday. Thank you for your inspirational video. If this would have a good feel to play my style, I will love it. The other options were a Sterling by Music Man 25CA 5 string with classic shape and an Ibanez 6 String 33 inch BTB.

@GilaQila Hi, I find them both killer for slapping. I think the thing to consider is if you want a 2 band eq in the 34Ca or the three band eq and 5 string Ray 35.....the Ray 35 is super versatile!!!

Please disregard the comment by another user about the Sandberg basses being the same price. This review is for the made in Indonesia Sterling by Musicman Ray 35 it is LESS THAN HALF the price of the made in Germany Sandberg TM 5 string basses.

did you ever tried a sandberg TM model from germany? 4 or 5 strings doesn´t really matter! you should really try them! i promise you will look at the sterling and lough! and it is the same pricetag i guess.

I have not doubt you could make any bas sound good

To be honest: I HEAR less sound differences than with my G&L 2500 Tribute. Which don't mean the overall sound isn't better, could well be, although I like the dry and direct sound of the G&L. The only drawback on the G&L is that it isn't the best bass to play thumb&pull. How about this one for that ?

Which bass would you choose the ibanez sr500 or this sterling ray 35

Hello friend, what are the main differences between this and the music man sting ray !? I'm from Brazil, and here the sterling cost on average R $ 3,200.00 and the music man sting ray costs around R $ 7,500.00! Worth paying the difference! ?? I will thank anyone answer me !!

@BobMcadoo11 Hi Bob, I don't think it's anything like the US pre, I could be wrong. I will check with the Sterling reps....also check out the Ernie Ball Forums. I prefer this pre over the US pre....just my opinion......hope this helps.

the trouble with youtube demos is that you can never hear how things sound at real world volumes....most amps sould great until you turn them up,and that's kind of what separates the wheat from the chaff.....

If a MM Stingray was a 10... what grade would this bass have?
