@@krispykrunkdonut unfortunately they're inaccessible outside of the US. the Ray2s are too expensive to be worth it here too sadly. Sterling just really hatees Europe lmao Sucks to be a stingray fan

@@LowEndLobster Affinity Squires actually are becoming very consistent, I bought a month ago a PJ Precision Affinity and I was amazed on how well made it was - Though electronics are still lackluster so I put some EMG Geezer Butler in Ivory and man, it was a game changer - now it looks as good as it sounds.

Last one was genuinely coincidence as that polish had been on for like 3 weeks lol. This time it was on purpose haha

The Ray4 and Ray2 both have a satin poly, but it feels like it might be a little thinner on the Ray2 and there were some 'rough' patches that felt like they could have used a bit more sanding where the Ray4's I've reviewed never had this

I haven't had a chance to try the sonic yet but I've heard good things. Avoid the debut!

The Z3 in the US is almost double the price, but I know SBMM pricing elsewhere is very different. I would def take a Z3 over this (even though I haven't played it yet, I have a feeling they did a good job with those)

Agreed in regards to comparison between this and the Ray4. In many markets the gap is too small, especially considering sales (here the Ray4 is only 20 bucks more than the Ray2 when on sale), how long it's been on the market and how established the Ray4 is today. The neck wasn't really 'bad'. just a variance in texture in a small area. A bummer for sure and I'd think about get another one if this was my first and only bass, but it's also not a bad instrument and it was very easy to play.

@@LowEndLobster Active p bass vs passive ray, i would be more easily sold on the p but thats me lol. I dont get it, why release the ray2, price point ahh. Glad to hear the neck isnt bad, years back i picked up a sub as a back up when i had to get my main bass at the time repaired. The playability really left an impact with me, years later i picked up a special. Have modded the ray just to offend some ray players, rammed emg's in to play c# brutal stuff. Its pretty for it good too. With the price changes im not so sure anymore but once i had the sub as the best budget bass available with everything taken into account, i think they play so well. Glad the neck isnt too bad on this. Just the price :\ the features ehh. I seen ads for Baum guitars, they have a really cool looking rick inspired design. They cost a bit tho, bout 1600/1800 euro or pound, made in china then put together in denmark. Look cool but very few reviews, none in depth. Personally i wont take the chance and next thing i get at some stage will be a euro. But yeah they look pretty good, nidhogg is the model
