"So he's gone totally Hollywood. He's not allowed to be irreverent. He's removed that from himself because he' hangs around all the people he's supposed to be irreverent about". That's a nice description of modern day Howard Stern from the man he once was.
One would think that a man worth 650million would get tired of being a predictable boring slave. One would think that he would ditch his handlers and do something edgy, funny, creative again. I mean, how much more money does he need?
Thank you for this comment. Thank you for refraining from badmouthing and ridiculing him. like a lot of these lil turncoats are doing. Is it sad and unfortunate that Stern’s best years are now behind him? Yes of course it is. But he entertained me for many many years. He brought me outta my funk more times than I can count and I’ll never forget that!
He wants Chevy to love him so badly.. to be ignored is worse than hatred. Howard needs someone to acknowledge his existence, whether friendly or a pest
Howard: "I thought he was being playful" Robin: "no he was being obnoxious" Lol Howards whole career is built on being obnoxious and she only noticed Chevy was being obnoxious back !!
Title says “Stern 94,” but at 8:07 Stern says “Invisible Man” is going to be a bomb, meaning it hasn’t come out yet. “Memoirs of an Invisible Man” starring Chevy Chase was released in the US on 2/28/92.
Let’s face it- Chevy Chase was not funny on SNL. He was the only unfunny one in Caddyshack, including the secondary caddies like Tony and Joey D’annunzio and Motormouth. I went through a living phase of every major Caddyshack character. Czervick first, then Carl, but oddly enough fell on Judge Smails as my final favorite. Ty Webb was never a candidate. Every movie after that was a flop and not funny. Dry and boring comedy attempts. Chevy is a bitter comedian. Bitter at others’ success and it shows. I am not sure how he lasted as long as he did.
This was actually from 92, but you are spot on. He is saying Chevy was old, not relevant and not funny or cutting edge anymore. He just described himself, now, in 2024.
30 years later, Howie is still puffing his chest about that cute little movie he made! He talked for years about how he turned down dozens of scripts and great movies, but he was too chickenshit to ever dive in headfirst in the movies. Chevy did that and then some. Howard is still just the kid that you beat up at lunchtime in high school
Sad how like Imus his time is over. I still love him but it’s totally detailed today. These clips are the greatest entertainment ever and it’s sad Sirius actively destroys the archives.
And now they're buddies. Him and Jerry Seinfeld. Even Steve Martin and Martin Short have, in as diplomatic a way as possible, have shown no interest in having him on "Only Murders in the Building".
Why would Chevy, a handsome, rich, Hollywood actor be jealous of Howard Stern 😂😂😂😅. I think Howie was projecting here. He wanted to be a handsome Hollywood guy so badly, hints the nose job.
Very true. I challenged anyone to continue a creative process for over 40 years and not change/transition to a different perspective. It’s part of growth, which a lot of these commenters clearly don’t understand. Yes, Howard is not as good now as his 20s-40s. But who is? What athlete? What actor? What musician? People are very surface reactive. They don’t think anymore.
Whoever says Howard was the greatest interviewer of all time has never watched Dick Cavett or Mochael Parkinson or several others. He was the best interviewer to ever ask his guests about pussys, dicks and drugs. That's not brilliant. It's pure shock. Stern is the biggest sell out this planet has ever seen. Thing is I always knew he was a dick.
