Cult favorite Steve Buscemi talks about his admiration for John Cassavetes in an interview conducted during the press junket for his film "Lonesome Jim." When asked about his other influences, he surprised me by bringing up the master of deadpan, the king of smoking/drinking/rocking, Mr. Aki Kaurismaki.

It would be cool to see Buscemi in (next) Kaurismäkis film, playing american or something like that. His face is a perfect fit for Kaurismäki film.

+istellarus No one fucking cares, like literally _no one_ cares. Most of the things I've heard of coming from Finland, well, from what I understand, your beloved country is not exactly a mecca for culture. Actually i'd rather live anywhere else in Europe than there. Been there twice, not exactly my cup of tea unfortunately.

+istellarus Tolkien was heavily inspired by "Kalevala", the national epic of FInland, for "The Lord Of The Rings". The language of the elves was based on Finnish. Elves live in deep forests, yet with great technology and knowledge. Sampo?
