As a father, I can say this.. I'm figuring the emotion involved in making this was off the charts... Respect to the Earle family... The man was troubled, but damn he was a talented young son of a gun.. I've watched multiple live JT renditions of this song, it has such a great beat and vibe, its such a catchy tune... The way JT breathed and emphasized certain words with little grunts and breathes, the kid was sincere and opinionated, and had a vibe all his own... And Steve in my humble opinion you did admirable justice to your boy here.. Much respect... 👋🙂🎶🎶🎶
RIP. Justin Townes. Duty done. My son is a musician, I was road crew for many years, with many fine bands. His decisions and life choices scare the shit out of me. But I don't got a leg to stand on when it comes to advice. Just crossing my fingers and praying we will always be able to talk, that he will always be welcomed without judgement under whichever roof I call home. Thank you Steve, for turning your grief into gold. Alchemy indeed.
Awesome. I have been into Steve Earle for years and had just really gotten into Justin right before he passed. Great tribute and a great job. His music will live forever
My condolences on your loss mr. Earle. My congratulations on having such a talented son. First time I saw him I was hooked on his talent and style. He was one of the artist who will forever be on my playlist.
Not to be frivolous but reminds me of the time i rolled a Toyota truck on the way to the rock and barbecue matinee at the Bottom of The Hill - arguably been living on bonus time ever since. Carpe diem, God bless and keep on rockin’ in the free world
Steve Earle is in a very talented, and extremely limited class of singer/song writers. His son proving that the apple doesn’t fall far. Condolences and Respect.
