Steve kept the heart of the classic Genesis sound alive over the years whilst his ex band mates chased the pop dollar. Thank goodness he’s now reaping the rewards. Hackett, Zappa and Holdsworth....my guitar heroes!

thank you Mr Hackett for staying sober and switched on. It's annoying to watch these musicians who are looking drugged up or burned out trying to pass on their life experience to others

"I couldn't afford a guitar with a whammy bar"....I imagine that now companies line up to provide him with their products just for the privilege of being seen with him playing them. Although I haven't seen him not playing a LP.

It is not tapping but a right hand pull-off. Tapping is a different technique altogether. The difference between tapping (first 8 seconds) & pull offs from 10-14 seconds into the song) may be heard on Van Halen's Spanish Fly.
