A short but powerful video clip of Steve Lawson explaining his conclusion on the topic from 1 Corinthians 3.
I struggled with understanding this section of scripture and read and searched several teachers and I found this particular understanding the most helpful. I hope you will, too.

well, that is poor argument because he makes the relation to creation and it is build-up of that truth. And if we going to say that the Apostle's words are not authoritative because Jesus didn't say the exact same, then we taking a page of the book of progressive Christians. the head covering is clearly there to display headship which God ordained from creation. i can use his very same argument and make the argument and say that we should break bread on any day of the week as seem fit because it was only said once in Acts 20;7. would he agree? it goes back to how we view the authority of scripture. one verse is enough for me because it is the word of God. and when it comes to foot washing and looking further into the context, i believe it was a command not necessary to the whole church but rather to the apostles only (see vs 18). they were to be his chosen messengers (hence the reason he washed their feet only) and he wanted them to wash each other's feet to teach one another humility and love. and i believe the church has a similar command in Galatians 6:2. either way i am happy that he is actually trying to study this topic. the apostle Paul would never connect doctrine to cultural practises he left man made practises when he stopped bring a Pharisee. and if the passage says *all the churches of God* then that would mean despite culture. cause there is no culture regarded in God's assembly, neither Jew nor greek.

That's an interesting take on this. Just curious what you think then about baptizing for the dead, 1 Corinthians 15:29. Do you think we should?

Corinthians 11:6 is the key verse. If she has no covering while assembling, then her hair should be cut off. So hair and the covering cannot be the same thing. Indeed, this is proven by the man not to have a 'covering' on his head when praying to God. If hair was the 'covering' then he would have to cut his off each time before prayers, or of course be bald........{;o;}
