He's so open and honest...no hidden agendas with Steve! What you see is what you get! I love his humble attitude, and that angelic voice and his good looks don't hurt either!
Just love listening to him talk, as much as his singing. He is so eloquent, sincere, insightful, and "normal". What a blessing he is to all of us. Wishing him all the happiness he deserves.
NOBODY, I SAY NOBODY could control a stage like Steve Perry live. He was INCREDIBLE how he could tell a short story before a song. His was was so gravitating live which would help sell it. He did this in live Journey shows back in the 80's with Who's Crying Now. When Jonathon Cain kicked in to start the song, OMG the crowd went bonkers and I had chills up my spine it was so good how he could pump up a song.
God! the 80s was truly a time of great music. Steve Perry and Journey were a part of that magical decade. I've owned "Street Talk" since i was a kid. Great album.
Wise beyond his years and even wiser now on the first day of 2022 at 5:45 am. Yes, another night of no sleep and maybe depressed but anything Elvis or Steve Perry to listen or watch or read sure beats tv. I hope he knows how many people love him, how much his music has touched so many out here and still does. God Bless You Steve Perry and Thank you for sharing your gifts of lyric and song with all of us out here. Thank you so much for coming back.
I have always just loved the "REALNESS" of him. He doesn't view himself as an icon because he really doesn't think he's above anybody. Cool guy. Hey Steve! We all like pasta, beer and wine too! I like what he says about music videos in comparison to books or songs without them and using your minds eye. I have always felt that way. I prefer to see an artist emote if I'm going to watch a music vid....without distractions of stupid love plots...sexy girls...ect. I would rather just see the singer sing with all the body language, facial expressions and emotion.
Steve in my opinion is the best musician of this entire decade. He’s classy, articulate, and a musical genius. Whether Steve is in Journey or doing solo work, I love to listen to him. He’s why I like Journey.
@steveperryofficial244 I'm doing well, thank you for asking. Grew up listening to 1980's music as a very young teenager. Always enjoyed your music and your style of singing. To me it's real music.
@steveperryofficial244 commenting from RU-vid. My brother had a collection of AOR albums and classic rock music such as Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Kansas, Boston, Survivor, Journey, Deep Purple, Toto, REO speed wagon etc. Also I was exposed to Motown, Beatles music and Jimi Hendrix too. Such great music 👌. Now in my 40s, I can see modern music has deteriorated so much. It doesn't have any heart and soul anymore. Thank God I was born at a time when music was actually artistic and real. Such beautiful times 💘
@steveperryofficial244 I have a question, which songs of Journey do you feel a strong connection with, personally and emotionally or is it the songs from your solo projects? Just curious ☺️
@steveperryofficial244 have you ever thought of doing a tribute album of classic R&B soul songs from the 1960s? Listened to your version of Sam Cooke's bring it home, Ben E King's Stand by me and Unchain melody. It was amazing, so soulful and heartfelt.
Steve Perry is a legend. And even more so when you hear him in interviews, and how down to earth he is. So great to see him inducted in hall of fame this year. Really hope he makes music again.
This is a excellent interview. Great to have this interview and now year's later Steve is still in my opinion awesome person and his voice is still unbelievable 🥰🎶🎵🦋
Look how open and adorable he is! Steve are u for real? Or am I dreaming,...these videos of him are wonderful!...I luv u Stevie,..u brighten my world!...oh yeah, I like beer, wine and pasta as well, baby
Love that he always wants the listener to define the song for themself. Since the beginning, he hasnt changed in that respect. And eat all the pasta and drink all the wine you want Steve. 😂
steve perry is one of the best male singers ever its so cool to look at him talking back in the 1980s so cool to be to go back in time hes so cool i love him and his voice is so good hes the best im a big steve perry fan i have every photo and record he put out thank you for posting this love it baby michelle pringle. ya
Sensitive, smart, philosophical, funny, talented👍 AND he loves pasta, beer and wine. Shut the front door! No Ka Oi! Uncle, where u stay? Patiently (or not) waiting on the new music. Please come sing in Hawaii again🎤🎵🤙=^..^=
That new lead singer in "journey" could never replace steve, doesn't sound like em to me! I just bought a bunch of vinyl LP's for a buck! "Street talk" was one of them! I really struck gold because of that one Album! I would've paid thirty bucks for that alone!
Steve Perry is the real thing he so deep I didn't know he likes r and b know wonder he sings so soulful. He's voice is the best may you always rock on. You are a for real guy so deep and down to earth. I love you Steve Perry a fan forever ❣️😍😘❤️.
LOL!!! "I've got some torches, I've got a cave, I've got some smoke, you're gonna love it, I've got these chicks in leather, they all got dog collars on, you're gonna love it!"
Yeah if there is anyone i would love to share a bottle of wine with would be Steve Perry, hes just a lovely humble human being, and has matured to a very handsome man ❤
Steve Perry what a talented man, his voice stands alone. His talents extend to the business side of music recording and producing are another addition to his accomplishments. Steve, whenever you are having a tough day emotionally or any other way, please read the kind words from your fans. My wish and prayer are that it lifts your spirit. ❤
I love every interview listening to his take in how his life was going. What he is up to. Even though a lot is about business with Steve he gives more than that. His personality comes across. He is detail oriented, a perfectionist a hard worker who lives his musical life. The way his brain ticks, effects how he can or can't enjoy life. Hello,Steve I would love to know you. This isn't my real name.. .
Love this man as a human being and as a singer! I can hear Steve Perry sing a newspaper article or telephone directory book (are these things even still around?) anytime of the day or week for that matter! I love him in Journey or as a solo artist. I can listen to "Foolish Heart" to infinity and beyond. Your voice and music continue to touch my soul, Mr. Perry! Thank you and many blessings!
There was a movie Steve Perry produced playing this last weekend. There in the credits was SP. He also produced "Caddyshack" the movie! Let's hear a new album and tour with Journey Mr. Steve. The world will blow up.
@@denboe2894 I’ve seen caddy shack multiple times. In the credits it’s talking about how the song “Any Way You Want It” was written by Steve Perry and Neal Schon, and performed by Journey. Steve didn’t produce caddy shack. They’re giving him and Neal credits to any way you want it.
I've seen other people mention how articulate Perry was in his interviews. It's fun to hear maybe what was going on behind the scenes and have a little window to how it came together for them. Also who knows what people are like when the microphone and the camera are off and we can only respect what we see but he came across as a man that didn't have the need to be crude or insensitive . He still comes across that way even now.
Journey was over at this point given the success of Street Talk. There was no way that band would stay a democracy with this feather in Steve's cap. And ROR and even TBF proved that.
@@stephenperry2258 are you familiar with fil Henley, wings of pegasus, he does a great cover of don't stop believing, he has a channel on you tube. I'm one of his patrons.
Paul Hendricks - YES!! I thought I was the only one who noticed that. From certain angles he certainly does resemble Denny. I love the Mamas and the Papas. Denny Doherty was one of the best singers of the 1960s.
You know, I've been a Perry fan since I was 13 years old. Looking at this interview now as an adult, I see such arrogance and attitude about him back then, he's a better person now it seems, immature then.
I don't think he's chubby at all. Ofc if you compare him to that 70's Steve when he was more like anorectic skeleton then yea he might look chubby here...
@@emmasissko8915 he was very thin in his early years but I wouldn't say anorexic skeleton . Yes compared to his earlier skinnier years, he is a bit plump here but, pleasantly so. His lips look so bee stung here.
@@steeliejan7929 Steve said that when he was touring, he would lose pounds each night but when he was off tour he would gain weight. This was during Journey's three yr hiatus.
