Yes, great interview and so clear as promised. Not to be picky but as a man who founded a multimedia firm that's motto is "Puttibg Muscle in Media" as well as working general media projects since thec1980s why was all that dead air space left in? An editor would have omitted that useless footage that mainly only provided a back view of Steve's slightly pink balding spot, when the thinning hair was so well concealed from the front view head shots. I've worked with some that would have "taken my head off" for leaving in unflattering shots which contained no audio content whatsoever so I really don't get the point. A few edits would have been easy to do, and improved the presentation. But thanks, it was great to see this rare footage however you chose to deliver it nonetheless Best Jurassic Jack Mr.Mass Media x6 and Grand Elite Masters Champion x2 1991-1998 ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer aka Jack A.S VanNote President JAV Communcative Enterprises A Multimedia Firm

I was born in 53 (just to set the dates). Frank Zane took Body Building into the science of the 20th century. His body was a result of Measured vitamin sups, experimenting with small portions of healthy foods taken 5 or 6 times a day, resting and recovery schedules, lighter weights and higher reps a true Zen Minded Champion. He did carry excellent genetics and scientifically engineered the Person Methods that created his mind blowing sculpted symmetry. Frank taught us that Posing Also enhanced muscle insertions and to the extent that he'd pose out after every set. He was the "mind in the muscle guy" long before Joe Weider capitalized on the subject. His Very low Body Fat content directed the industry in showing deep cuts and the beginning of an introduction to Vascularity and Peak referred to as Ripped. In my mid 40's I enter the gym in Brazil at 9am and still be found doing Upper barbell chest at 2pm; 70 to 90 sets 3.5 to 4 minute rests between. Believing that a fully recovered muscle could be hammered all day. I trained my thighs (until I couldnt walk every day x 7) then my bicep and triceps to caught up blood, then move to one other muscle. No Stretching! Leaving the muscle traumatized and NOT performing any muscle soothing techniques. I loved Mike Mentzer. One warm up set then to my max remaining there no weight reductions. When u hit your Runners High, you become a Neandrethal. Most folks Leave the gym long before they get even close to their potential. Thats why folks Plateau and think changing to a more exotic technique is beneficial?

In addition to those 2, I would also add, from among anybody from several decades ago, Dick DuBois (who was paired with Steve Reeves in the 1954 film "Athena"), and Lynn Lyman - much less known. In terms of symmetry, proportion, balance, and overall beauty - those 4 are definitely among the best, ever.

"Gem". That's a good word for it. A discovered gem. George Helmer told me a story about Steve, John Little and George. George and John were doing research for one of the Steve Reeves books and they were at Steve's home gym. I'm just so glad that I became only vaguely acquainted with who he was a few years ago and then only within the last couple of months started getting into the history of Bodybuilding and into him. Because if I had been into him for a much longer time, I would have been *dying* to see something like this. Of course, there are tons of bodybuilders over the years who have been really attractive, because they can't make it to the top levels without having good genetics. But among all of those, I haven't seen one yet who is so captivating, and there are plenty of others who do captivate very well, themselves - just not as well as he does. From his speech patterns from both this video and multiple others I've seen, I think that some of the reason that we don't have much in the way of candid footage of him is because he was really, really smart. I don't think it was anything he displayed for people. But for him to have led the life that he did, he would have had to have been really smart. It's the way that he rushes together some words and phrases - I think to just get them out of his mouth and be done with answering questions. He doesn't seem like he was ever much for being rude, but I do think that he was very practical and just wanted to live his life and not be too concerned with mundane things. I think that there was some very high-level intellect that he had that he kept hidden.
@Keranu
@Keranu 2 года назад
@@williamnoel1682 Your comment is like hearing myself talk. I too first discovered Steve around 2017 but only really started getting into him for the past year -- something about him is intensely captivating. It seems like a lot of people have been flocking to him lately, perhaps as an inspiring escape from all the bullcrap we see today. His speech patterns have also struck some kind of chord in my observations too. He is a very practical man as you've said, but as an introvert myself, I can tell Steve is introverted. I've been meaning to read his books, I'd like to see if he expresses himself more thoroughly through writing. There are so many things I picked up on in this interview that I've been meaning to note in the comment section. One of them is he is peculiarly consistent -- this goes back to you calling him practical. So much I could say about this enigmatic icon.

At about the exact time of this interview, my husband, a Hollywood talent agent was working with Carolco Pictures on signing Steve to a co-starring role in a film called, "Crusade" starring Arnold. The premise was that an older warrior priest during the Crusades was to hand down his sword to his younger counterpart. My husband had convinced the owner of the production company, Andrew Vajna, that this would be a match made in heaven since Reeves and Schwarzenegger were both movie stars and the most famous bodybuilders who ever lived. My husband spoke often with Steve on the phone, NY to California and Steve gave him his blessing. Unfortunately, Carolco went bankrupt and the movie was never made.

Eye blinking is for the most part an autonomic function of the body related to the eyes' need to be keep moist. The blink spreads the tear duct production of fluid over the eye evenly and as needed. It is not a function within our control unless we sense a need to blink for an exterior reason. aka foreign object coming into the eye, a sudden light flash etc. Infrequent blinking indicates Steve's eyes and the environment he was in were very copesthetic vs a vs moisture levels. Also as blinking can indicate emotional aspects such as nervousness and untruthfylnes that he was calm, speaking the truth, and at ease in this setting. Nothing more.
