Sounds like a load of bull ! So you went on a date empty pockect? I find nothing wrong with going dutch, he's a hustler but the woman could have just paid her half and leave.

Irrespective of whether he claims to know nothing about the show, how can he think that he’s going to have dinner at some fancy place in London and not pay for it ? Also find it a little too convenient that his cards were frozen around the time he went on the show. If your finances are that messed up, how about just NOT going on the show in the first place and save yourself all this drama.

This man is a legend. That woman he was saddled with is dodgy and just wrong on so many levels. Firstly why should the man always pay or be expected to pay? Women only didn't pay as during the Victorian times when this tradition started, women didn't work and didn't have money. She has got a lot of front not expecting to pay. The fact that she tried to keep her money which was given to her also and then begrudgingly gave 20 pounds of it keeping a fiver speaks volumes about the character of this woman. Steve didn't wasn't attracted to her so why should he pay anyway aside from the antiquated social rule of the man paying? Her belligerent attitude and condescending manner towards Steve got my back up so I think he acted like a gentleman towards her frankly. If she was brought up with any decency, she would have not judged Steve and paid, I would have offered to go Dutch from the start anyway. I always do and would never expect a man to pay for me. We are both earning, we both can pay. At least one pay for the meal and the other for the drinks etc. That woman is a nasty, horrible, classless, immoral, selfish person. To humiliate someone the way she tried to with Steve!; Speaks volumes about that woman as a person let alone as a woman! My partner knows Steve and he told me to watch the show. I felt uncomfortable for Steve when I watched it. I could see what he was thinking. The man is a genuine person, he has done a lot with his life and is worth a million times what that Biatcccc$$$$$chhhhh£££££££ is! By all accounts Steve is a lovely, generous guy! I was on Steve's side until he said he was "digging in", when asked how did they rack up a bill of £111. If he did most of the eating and drinking then surely he can't expect her to pay half for it. She should have made a contribution but not half. And Steve looks like he can throw it down.

If you don't know how the pay arrangements are, and u don't get the show, then you should ask. Never assume. A decent man would have asked the show producers. Having been on TV rhey would have informed him. He's cheap. End of.....

I personally think that a man should pay for the first date. But if he didn't like her I think it's fair to go halves. Especially for that ridiculous price. But I think he is just chatting shit making excuses tho. 🙄🙄🙄

Im watching this from the States, she was damn terrible and badminded, how she gonna put down only 20 pounds after she saw the bill? And then grudgingly put another tener after he asked to go dutch? the bill was 111 pounds 1) thats not dutch and 2) the producers gave her 25 pounds, so she paid a fiver to eat and drink, and she looks like she knows how to nyam! Steve, im a traditional girl, but you know what, on a first date, if i see a man struggling to pay the bill, like you were, im gonna at least attempt or offer help out, but then, im not an opportunist like some ppl. its a first date after all, now if its a pattern through a serious relationship, then that may be a problem.
