Joe kinda trips me out.!! The guy is awesome, and has achieved so much in his life.Yet he always comes across as so laid back ,and happy to be there..the world needs more like him
To the person who posted this. Thank you very much for sharing it. I know several people like to bash these guitarists, maybe they should just go listen to dusted beeker... I realize this music is not for everyone, but some of us really appreciate their skill and talent. This was a great thing to watch instead of something on T.V. Again, Thanks.
+lonzenator I got rid of my TV 10 years ago for that very reason, I can watch anything online, I cant even get close with a TV. If you are someone thats addicted to soaps and such you are beyond repair lol
Not happening and for the better at this point. They’ve said what they needed to say on the guitar over the last 30+ years. The time to do it was any time in the last four decades and most likely if it was going to happen it would have already. I’d rather keep imaging “what-if” than actually hear it years too late when they’re both out of fresh ideas.
These guys' styles go together so well, they should do a studio album together. Vai is the more flashy technician with the pinnacle of chops, but Satch is such a composer and his solos have tremendous feel....both top ten all time guitarists IMO!!!!
For those of you who want to find where they finally start playing together - 11:47 is when Joe plugs in and says, "Don't mind me, just keep playing," then joins shortly after. Skip ahead to around that time.
Two great masters right there, thank you so much for this up load. Reminds me of being a kid all over again . Close your eyes and just listen to the notes turn into a story in your head :)
Those guys have known each other since they were children, and they both became super-successful Guitar Wizards. And right now they're doing the same thing they were doing decades ago as kids. Must be cool.
12:58, 22:10, 29:10, 32:09, 34:15 are all potential songs that could be part of an epic collaborative album between these two. Sometimes i wish they would just stop touring and come out with a record already :/
GioGuitarDude Couldn't agree more! The idea Vai was playing by 10:00 has been in his mind since idk when, and it's VERY similar (and awesome) to his solo part in his old days with lee roth on skyscraper's tour!
Yup definitely! I.also wonder what they would have thought if somebody would have predicted this jam to them back when Joe was still Steve's teacher. "Ya know, in 2001 you'll both have outrageous signature guitars and guitar magazines will beg to witness you jam".
this was posted actually three months almost to the day after I met Steve at his show at the Fillmore in Charlotte NC,(Story of Light Tour) thank you Steve for being so gracious
This is the best example of how an artist can through his connection to the creative source, can act as an antenna and allow the creativity of the universe flow through him. these two guys are incredible musicians and their technical abilities are amazing...but, it's their ability to go into an almost trance like state and let it just flow out of them. Now that is impressive.
What is this America's got talent.... The videos too blurry, they should've been ready to play, and my iPads battery is ready to die. I think it's awesome to see 2 guitarists, raw, uncut, unedited, sit down and jam with one another.
They are better here than on albums and concerts. Very good stuff! Best way to play: absolute "honestly", without any obligations, just let the music come out from inside.
my two top influences doing what they do best, the way the are musically in sync with each other is simply brilliant, i hope and pray that one day they will write an album together as many people do, but as a musician i appreciate this video more for it is sheer proof that improvisation can be done even amongst the greats, and i hope that one day i will be somewhere even close to that level of skill
