Steve Vai's right-hand man, Dante Frisiello, demos his arsenal of tones from the @fractalaudiosystems FM9. Purchase your unit at www.g66.eu and The Complete Fractal Audio Master Class Series at classes.cooper...
Great back story. Thanks for doing the trivia contest for us 8 guys hanging at the bus post concert! (Oct '22 in Charleston) Awsome to see you replace D.W. Just saw the Satch/Vai Charlotte show. Really Awsome. Really happy for you. All the best.
Great run through and nice to have Dante explain how he does what he does on the unit and how he got there. Seems like a great guy, no wonder he's been rising up the ranks. Being a technically great guitarist, of course, is important... But being chill and a good collaborator is golden. 🏆
Thanks to have shared your passion and those crazy sounds with your pedal effect ! The demos are awesome with some jazz chords i suppose when hearing !
You did great landing that gig..The Fractal clean I heard sounded meeeehhh to me..Does.Steve still use his Carvin Legacys NO? THEN into his fractal .I dig MILDLY the processed sound .it sounds so umm Processed..ha. .but your the 1 gettin $ for that gig... nothing in the world like PURE tube tone imo.
I like this guy he seems like solid dude Judging from his solo, his skills are so so, vibrato is weak some stuttering but I guess if his gig is backing up Vai then you don’t need to be an amazing talent, The Vais job, competency and knowing the right people has launched many a career Good for him maybe he will get back to law school one day
So it’s not about getting the best tone but the convenience of small footprint that can be stowed in the overhead? Because those “Shiva” tones sound nothing like my Bogners and the distorted tones, as someone else had mentioned, are thin In addition if your stage cabs are for your monitoring, since your running to Cooper Carter FOH then why as a rhythm guitarist do you need stereo? It seems with my AxeFx3 without the width that stereo offers, these boxes, (although great effects and routing) are weak as amp emulation compared to the real deal, I mean sure we all saw Steve Vai on the Fractal site but what is he using for his amp sounds (All-tube) preamp module custom-designed by Synergy and Steve Vai 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes ensure rich harmonic performance Into The Fryette LX II (Tube) Stereo Power Amplifier Not a nice as his Carvin legacy’s but with the tubes breathing life back into his sound the rig is much better that the fractal models One by one guitarist are returning to tubes Now Cliff has to add 12ax7 to his AxeFx 4, I’ve been using “real tube” stomps and tube amps to beef up the sound of my AxeFx3 a short time after purchasing it I know the fractal heads will attack in force, as they always do, until that new Fractal product eventually is released with valves and then they will change their tune
