Wait! Mountain bikers and hikers, in the background, enjoying the great outdoors? And Steve Vai in the foreground, shredding? Where is this universe, this world, this HEAVEN??? How can it be????
How's your better half Buzz.. .wasn't it Bunny? No I won't tell you "Everything you know is wrong", but just a smidge of goodwill advise......a national park or forest in Colorado is not governed by state statutes, but federal ones.....so be careful! Oh that there were still new Firesign Theater material in the future forecast:)

Steve Vai is such a treasure. He takes the simplest guitar riffs and puts his spin on them and suddenly they are no longer simple. His note expressions that he pulls from his guitar strings are not just guitar notes but they are his expressions that he thinks belong in the song.
+sheriffii I think Robben enjoy it. He is a great blues guitar legend also a really great person! For him a very good time to get some new ideas from Steve "indulgent garbage".
Vai plays much more subtle (also his tone is more smooth) than years before, when his playing and sound was much more rough. I love his combo of subtle and energetic approach, simple and complex, loud and silent. So much dynamics in his performance .During one of his concerts it happened that luckily I was very close to stage, it was intimate club concert and at one moment he have lean forward with guitar close to my face and I subtly for second touched his guitar, he smilled and I felt electric current throughout my body. Maybe this was some kind of "initiation" via energy transfer :) However, my guitar playing became better after and understanding of music is just coming to me naturally now. I believe its very good, even priceless to watch his lessons and performances if you are music student, guitarist... He is great human being, teacher and musician par excellence !
+Zoran Ramzo Kamenycky Absolutely man! The BEST music of any Genre is Spiritual and is inspired from Moment One. This is exactly why people like John McLaughlin, Steve Vai, Carlos Santana, etc. touch you on a deep level. It's because the notes comes from the heart and Soul of the artist. Take good care :) ♫♫
@Alan Roberts We are not this body, but much more, eternal spirit. That was meaning of comment. Spirit is beyond sexuality. And I am not gay btw and dont think Vai is gay oriented either just because he can be subtle. Also why man cannot be warm and kind ? Best warriors are known to be able to be incredibly subtle and kind. I appreciate kindness whether from man or woman. And I am not really friendly with bullies and rudes, I enjoyed kicked their ass in my youth. if you dont like me or my comment just ignore it. Or you enjoy causing negativity, anger and hatred ? Cause your comment is neither respectful nor friendly ! my warm advice ; think before you speak or write it will save you a lot of troubles. Love and respect. OM
Steve Vai is awesome but I couldn't stop looking at Robben Ford... what a nice guy to just stand there and have a listen to a fellow musician/guitarist.
This is the best I've seen of Steve....funky more relaxed Rock n' Roll atmosphere,no posing, enjoying himself & playing Cosmic Atomic Herculean Avatar powerhouse music! Thank-you for posting and Infinite Blessings to Steve Vai & his Band ....Aum
MRNYCRISPY Thanks for posting this. I attended one of the Guitar Town festivals around 10 years ago with Eric Johnson and Buddy Guy as headliners. It's an unbelievable setting for a show. I've seen Steve Vai play several times but have missed him the last few times he's been in town. This is a great performance. Thanks again.
AGE? Vai was hired by Frank Zappa as co-lead guitarist 30 years ago - Genius recognizing Genius. Truly today, Steve is breath taking in where he Takes us, Sharing Rare Air, excelling the older he gets....stunning mind, flawless, his Music is Magic.
I love the expressions on Robben Ford's face! I bet he's thinkin' "wow in the last five second you shredded more notes that I've played all year long!"
I did want to say......I have seen some recent performances where he maybe didn't play as well as we know he's capable. He was "on" here. the jam was great at the end. also the places where Robben cracks a grin are the same places I do. lol
the most amezing for me, was the face of old music-technich dude on backe side. Sure, he saw lots of guitar players, but Stevie Wondered even him)))))))))))
+Jon Hobgood from 1:02:20--1:02:40. In this performance, it's almost *identical* to the original recording. I've probably seen over 150 live videos of FTLOG and this is by a long shot the closest I've ever heard him get to the studio recording. And if you watch HOW it's played, it's pretty amazing. It's a lot less picking than I would've thought...but his hammers/pulls are just so strong that they are at an even volume level with the picked notes. Very glad I found this!
+RiPE Technologies that and the 60 seconds or so leading up to it were also dead ringers for the study rendition. I used to listen to this in my twenties and wondered how on earth he was doing it. Amazing to see it live. Well, YT live at least :)
The people in the background hiking.....how do you walk by and keep going while Steve Vai plays "For the Love of God"?? Not even a glance toward the stage! Very strange.
