Thrash Maniac That's not true at all. Many musicians who have a great ear cannot sing, even if they try to learn... and some just have a bad voice for it.
@squatch570
@squatch570 6 лет назад
Thrash Maniac Are you slow or something? You can "find" the notes but if your voice isn't good enough to produce them, then you can't sing! Singing is about your voice just as much as it's about having an ear and knowing music... you know that, right? If you're guitar technique is terrible but you are musical with a good ear... you're not going to be much of a guitarist either. Get it??

I was in middle school and I used to spend days at my house listening to this G3 in Denver with my two friends. I recall them going crazy during Little Wing solos, and they would always prefer Yngwie's and Joe's, but me, I would always get chills during Steve's and I was always fighting over it, because to me, that was the best one. Now after many years I'm a musician, I've studied composition and piano, and I know why I liked that more.

People who say this is just random noodling - no it's not. You can see how he sings everything he plays. He knows exactly what he is doing. He knows every sound he is making. It's not random noodling. Though I understand people who don't like this. It gets a bit over the top in the end of his solo (which I think is kind of cool). For some it gets too shreddy. But yeah, I like Steve Vai a lot. He's my favorite "shredder" (and I think he's a lot more than just a shredder - he actually makes music and doesn't just show off his guitar skills).

Really disappointed this version is not on the G3 CD. What a masterclass.

A BIG Thank You to Steve Vai as i now know what a fretless lead & rythm guitar sounds like as they don't exactly occupy any shelf space in musical instrument stores either new or preowned... I started out on the drums , with enough knowledge of chords on the acoustic to keep me busy but it was the unlikely of instruments that i went on to fall in love with & that is the bass guitar... I've had my hands on some of the most beautifully crafted & sounding fretted bass guitar's but i needed to scratch that itch that was the electric fretless bass guitar & i did & in the right hands it can make sounds you could never dream of & even before i'd heard their were a limited amount of fretless lead guitar's 4 decades ago I had already wondered long before i ever picked up as bass guitar as to how an electric fretless lead & rythm guitar would sound & for some reason i've never tried to track down any footage on RU-vid of one that would give me any idea of what one would sound like & this just showed up on my RU-vid page & though Steve gave me a glimpse of what it would sound like i still think it has a lot more to offer but this will suffice for now... In light of this still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....

Truly, in my opinion, the greatest guitarist worldwide. Eddie Van Halen will be deeply missed, but sadly Steve Vai became what Eddie should have become. PASSION

even though steve vai is late in the last melodic slide, he is still one of the best master guitarists in the world

Would like to play a fretless guitar sometime. Never seen one in person. Wonder how they are to play.

Of course, how otherwise does it have that fluent slide at 2:18. Thats only possible on a fretless guitar :)

+Cursus Citatus Actually know. *puts on nerd glasses* It is actually possible to a fluent slide on a freted neck by using a dense object (slide guitar) like a clock on your wrist.

+rikiwakwak Oh man it's awesome. Bumbmlefoot and Guthrie Govan (two beasts guitarists) use them frequently and demo them on youtube :) i've been saving up for the fretted and fretless double neck bumblefoot signature guitar from Vigier since i had the chance to play Bumblefoot's very own one ^^

Crossroads is one of my all time favourite movies and I have been so inspired to play my fretless bass in a similar fashion.

Man I just saved up enough for my first Jem and I can say without hesitation that it is easily the most amazing guitar I have ever played or owned in my 23 years of playing. I also have the Herman Li (Dragonforce) signature model which is still use a lot as well but only bc its so damn light it's like you're not even holding anything lol, but the Jem has the best bridge in the world I can dip that whammy bar to hell and pull it up to heaven and it stays in perfect tuning lol. Not to mention the pickups Steve chose are some of the best I have ever used in my life, that single coil middle pickup sounds so beautiful. Next I'm saving for his new model "PIA" but that will prob take so long that Steve will release a new signature model haha! Love you Steve!
