I've taken 5 polys, failed 1, passed 3 and one inconclusive. I changed none of my answers, giving the same responses to each test. The poligrapher was very, very mad about this saying it wasn't possible... I've also known a lady who was fired from a bank when she failed concerning a missing check. Two months after they let her go for "lying," they found the check between filing cabinets. She had never touched it. Polys are somewhat accurate, but NOT always.
The creator of them even said it was pretty bullshit they're not accurate most of the time and can even be tricked if you're a psychopath and or a pathological liar that believes what you're saying is true
@@alavista4218 nope wrong. In a lot of states they are out right outlawed. Cant even be giving the option to take one. And in all states the are not admissible in court. These is a reason for that and that’s because there is no such thing as a lie detector test. Even the inventor of the technology has came out on record and said that it is being widely miss used and was not invented for the reasons law-enforcement uses it. has even went on to say he totally regrets even inventing it.
@@martin3008how doesn't it affect it? A highly anxious person will experience an accelerated heart rate which is measured in the test. How about you come up with a real reply instead of whining that you think someone is wrong.
Fun fact: if you are not remorseful for what you done you can pass a poly but if you are nervous you will fail even if you didn’t do it Edit: I’ve started war
@Andrew Edmonds its not self incriminating, yeah you might look more guilty but a lie detector test could show up as u lied because of severe anxiety for example, it alters ur emotions therefor u can't take it 24 hours before a lie detector test, if my anxiety is off the charts and it monitors my heart rate, I'd surely fail even if I was telling the truth and that would make me look bad. Don't take them
Anyone can the lie detector test isn't accurate and the Drunk driver Steve wilkos knows it but he expects his guests to be stupid and believe the test is accurate just because he says it is
Andrew Ray, in polygraph tests they only ask questions that can only be answered with yes or no. They would never ask "where do you live?". They might ask, "do you live on Jupiter?", a yes or no question.
There’s no such thing as a “Pinocchio response” its a test that reads your sweat levels, heart rate, and breathing if I’m correct. And all those can be affected by a TON of stuff, hence why they cannot be used in court and instead are used on TV shows. Should be fairly obvious idk why most people can’t see this.
He controls the results of the test he knows it's not accurate that's why his lie detector tests have been proven wrong a Dozen times and will continue to be proven wrong
Polygraph tests are inadmissible as "proof" in court for a reason. They don't prove anything. Steve and Dan are no angels either. There's a whole lot of controversy around their polygraph "results" on the show. The contract that guests sign before the show, absolves the creators from any sort of legal ramifications for lying about their polygraph results, forcing guests to agree that the show and everything surrounding it is for "entertainment purposes only". In a nutshell, they can produce hit TV drama by exploiting and ruining the lives of guests. Not insinuating that ALL guests are innocent, but innocent people DO exist and DO get railroaded by overwhelming crowds of ppl in attendance who believe a hosts word to be gold just on the premise that these ppl are "professionals" & figures of "authority". Then there's Steve's 2018 DUI, when he put the innocent lives of others at risk, horrifically crashing his car, lying to first responders and reporters about being intoxicated after a blood alcohol level of .29!!! Over FOUR times the legal limit. Then there's the guilty guests who passed Steve's polygraph and went on to get caught committing the SAME crimes again. His tests aren't worth two squirts of piss. I won't even start about Dan's "accusations"... 😔 He's a sick man. Just dig for the evidence, look online and you'll find it.
Well there are different types of lie detectors so the ones that the FBI uses im assuming it works bc they would be arresting countless falsely accused convicts if it wasn't lol
Because lie detector tests are based off our reaction to stress so if your body does something abnormal when you lie they can see. But when you are nervous it also sets the machine off so it isnt accurate
@@jamesd5241 because women often make false reports and land dudes in prison because for whatever reason the courts sympathize with females more “cause they’re the weaker sex” Its easy for someone to believe when a women says a man forced himself on her when in reality they didnt, so if a lie detector actually worked they could use them to see if the claims are true or not.
@@jamesd5241 she is a girl ,thats their biggest problem...other than this there is no problem in a woman life they won't understand the real problems in this world
The best numbers out there give it a 50 to 70 percent accuracy rate. There have been people that spent years in prison after failed polygraphs only to later be cleared by DNA evidence. Think about it, test subjects with nothing on the line are not going to react the same emotionally and physically to questions. People on the show or people accused in a police station are bound to have an elevated response to the questions related to the accusation. I'm sure that they do get it right at times but people knowing how it works may get false negatives because they know if they react they will fail and that in itself might make their BP spike and start to sweat. I've always felt like if I were innocent and got accused I would fail because I have always gotten worked up anytime someone even insinuates something bad😂. Regardless, I'm pretty sure there were a few I had seen where the test was wrong and the show prob ruined their lives. Steve acts a little too confident in something that is at best 70 percent accurate. Imagine how any innocent person might react to being falsely accused of molestation. I feel like only people with full confidence in the test would pass.
They had a guy tested for killing a child , he passed, but later was found guilty and got a life sentence, , so no it’s just a guess, a woman failed the test and tried unalive her self at a airport toilet after the show
I was told by a lawyer and a detective that the lie detector test is not accurate so courts and police don't use it anymore because of that. But some law enforcement still use it to see how ppl react so they can catch them.
They are totally unreliable! That is why they can be used to show your guilt in court, but not your innocence! And I know this from personal experience!
Look it up people Dan on the Steve wilkos show who does a lot of test He's going to court now He's been found guilty of tampering with the lie detector test I'm not saying for the Steve wilkos show but for something so look it up that's why he's no longer there can't trust everybody You never know everybody's got a price lok😅
When tests are inconclusive it can mean your body doesnt have a flight response, which is why psychopaths can lie on them always because it doesnt setect a change in heart rate.
That’s just the court’s opinion but facts show that Dan Bibicoff’s tests are 99.9% accurate and he is One of the worlds most credible polygraph testers ever. He does them for the FBI and law-enforcement and even child protective services.
@@primalwerewolf9356 By who? What proof do you have that they are both con-artists and that they were proven wrong? Present the proof before you go on trying to substantiate yourself.
I went to school with the guy in the hat. He was an ahole back then. I don’t know how he is now. He was considered the class clown in school. Union high school class of 2002.
I did some research on this some time ago. In independent studies the most accurate polygraph tests, administered by the best testers in the world, sat at about 87% accurate. If you have an administrator that is biased or a unskilled or not properly trained that number drops. It seems like they are slightly more likely to give false passes instead of false fails but nonetheless. More than 1 in 10 results aren’t real.
I had a cousin who use to steal from a store he worked at. They gave him bout 5 lie detector test and he passed them all. Lol I wouldnt put much faith in a machine telling u are liar.
The creator of the lie detector called it a failure, police admitted the lie detector is just for show in order to force confessions out of easy criminals.
If anyone is saying anything about "its improved now" or "they fixed it now" give me a source, don't act like you can make shit up, pull up with official research because from what I can tell, they haven't done anything to change the design of the lie detector, give a better source than "trust me bro"
I'm fairly sure there was a case on Steves show where a woman tried to hurt herself because she failed but was telling the truth I could have swore I read that somewhere
No they are not any show that uses a lie detector test will never tell the truth about the accuracy of a lie detector because they rely on lie detector tests for ratings and if people actually use their head instead of believing the test is accurate just because a drunk driving talk show host says it is then they wouldn't take one
I guess it is. Imagine an 18-year old boy named Sam, who hates his parents, and he had an argument with his father about his girlfriend who wanted to go out with him, but his father forbids him from going out with the girl. He told him not to and Sam is angry at his dad. His mother came to break it up. Then, she gave them the tickets to “The Steve Wilkos Show.”
Short answer is no... They pick up anxiety, anger etc as well as there being multiple videos showing how to beat them. Also inadmissible in court if they were accurate they would be used in law courts....
Yea they’re beatable if you’re a psychopath or sociopath. Those people don’t feel the normal emotions after lying because they don’t care. So it’s easy for them to pass. I am one of those people 😂 my heart doesn’t skip a single beat when lying, I’ve taken the test. They asked was my name Kayla (it is) and I said no and still passed perfectly
Polys are notorious for being inaccurate. If someone who is innocent, but has extreme anxiety takes the test, they will fail. If a person is extremely calm, but guilty, they can pass. There are so many cases where innocent people are convicted because of this test.
Iirc the Steve wilkos show had a guest on who was accused of either CP or molestation, he failed his life detector test on the show, but later went on to pass multiple tests given to him by the FBI when they did their investigation. The show refused to air the results of those tests
