Just heard the sad news of the passing of one of the countries best ever all round radio broadcasters. Love this song and when on Radio 1 Steve Wright in the Afternoon always brightened the afternoons up. Used to love the characters and especially Mr Angry from Purley. R.I.P. Steve.

Thanks for uploading. I remember this when I was 13 years old and it just making the Top 40. It was in the chart around the same time as Rene and Renato's "Save Your Love" and Bowie and Bing's "Little Drummer Boy" so it kind of fits in well with the novelty of that December in 1982! It wasn't all bad back then though..The Jam's "Beat Surrender" was giving the chart credibility! :-)
Haven't heard this for over 30 years, somehow managed to remember the words though. We had the single at boarding school, I remember The Gay Caballeros was the B side.
Had this record as a kid (in fact, I've probably still got it somewhere!) and loved it. Only now, hearing it again 30 years later, do I realise the lyric "you're making me a nervous wreck" and not, as I previously thought, "you're making me another threat." Always thought it was a bit weird and didn't really rhyme.
Cant believe this is 32 yr old...dont know how steve wright crammed so much into his show and writing stuff for records...the bloke must have been a workaholic in his day
