Really? It's starting to sound stale. He has the rest of his life to complete this rebuild, because his 40-year friend, Trust-Fund Chris, would NEVER fire him. Yzerman ALWAYS talks a lot, but says nothing.
@@steveo3831oh boy, yet another smooth brain that thinks he can do a better job. Yall are complaining about an unfinished painting. Steady improvement year to year and still whining about it. Be quiet.
@@steveo3831 terrible.. 6 years.. and you claim to use facts as your argument. 4 years, steady improvement year to year. You're a troll, or worse, just straight up not intelligent at all. Get your "facts" straight. You probably just started watching hockey like 3 months ago and think you know anything. You don't. Because you just straight up lied to a stranger.
I mean I love this team, but it's borderline hilarious the problems a Professional Sports Team has in getting a good (I'd even accept understandable) microphone so that everyone can be heard. I offered (pre-covid) to take my own $79 down to Radio Shack and fix the problem (post covid, $279). Oh well.
I agree everything he said he makes so much sense out of things and really puts it in perspective of what his goals and focus and what he’s trying to be doing for this organization.
@@landen3578 I do see the improvements from year 2 year under Stevie Y. Each year we improved in points. The way it's going we should be a playoff team next year but I think we should be further in this process. So I hope he makes a huge splash.
Me too, not so much the veterans but which young guys. He spoke positively about kasper and mazur's season. Edvinsson's season speaks for itself, and I'd imagine Johansson is also not on this list. Berggren was GR's main offensive driver, scoring key goals in the playoffs. Unless they still arn't happy with the details of his game, cant imagine being disappointed with his season. My deduction is Lombardi, hannas and wallinder, perhaps.
Ghost walks, buy out Putrid, trade Holl for three,2082 picks😂 resign Kane, grabs Stamkos, bring up Danielson. Trade Fabbri and Husso for Gibson and future considerations.
Remember when chelios ,belfore, and company was our nemesis , what did we do to build around Stevie y, federov, shannhan Chris chelios and that made us unstoppable !!!! Could you imagine stamkos, Kane, Larkin, we will be unstoppable again I guarantee we be Serious contenders again look out !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm kind of disappointed nobody asked Stevie Y more about Justin Holl situation on the presser. Like, for example, him saying Klim Kostin post trade deadline was a must basically to move on with that trade to the sharks, and his reasoning was basically "if the coach doesn't believe he is gonna be more then a fill in on a 4th line/frequent healthy scratch in the role on our team, he couldnt justify keeping him at 2 mil a year." ---> So having Holl at 3,4 on a simular role (al bait on defence) should be simular solution right?
All of the naysayers need to realize that there is no one better than Steve to build a team for the future. He was a part of a team that was built for the future when he played. He has seen it and he understands it.
We will be one The top ten teams in the NHL next year and make the playoffs but this time we will clinch a berth early sooner than later no more fighting for a playoff spot with five other teams to get in this time we will coast into the playoffs watch you will see it's going to be like when we had Stevie y federov and company stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!
Kaner is like the dime piece you were lucky enough to get to know, because she just needed a rebound. Hahahaha Just chalk it up to a great memory, but he deserves a contender😁😄
Wings have to make a tough decision on Shayne Gostisphere. He's a free agent this year. And they already have to resign Sieder. So do they bring back a guy who was a big part of this defense
Really hoping for an aggressive offseason, particularly trades, as cap space limits the free agency front. Last offseason was the debrincat trade, i want more!! 2 offseasons ago, free agency was used to add talent, to raise the teams floor. Last offseason was more of the same, coupled with the debrincat trade to further raise the floor. We not only have one of the top prospect pools, we have a deep prospect pool. There isnt room for all of them to make it, and not all of them will make it. Further, even the ones that do make it, may not become what they are projected to be. Many of our prospects have the most trade value they ever will, nows the time to trade them for elite talent. For all we hear and talk about drafting and developing, building a core, i offer you a rebuttal. Exibit A, Vegas, a team thats been in the league for 7 years. Shorter time period than detroits playoff drought. Vegas has a cup, vegas is aggressive and makes the big moves ( eichel, pietrangelo etc ) no vegas draft picks play and contribute to their success. An expansion team, got agressive and built a perennial winner. Exibit B. Florida panthers, back to back cup finals, 4 home grown players. Florida has essentially been built by trades and free agency. Yes, 2 of the 4 home grown talent are barkov and ekblad, so that helps. Our comparable is raymond and seider as the studs to build around. Prospects are potential and hope, a bonafide nhler is a bonafide nhl. Which one are you betting on to help you win???
This core or journalists is dreadful w a few exceptions. Helene and Art were past their prime ten years ago. Some of the crappiest and repetitive questions ever. Same each year.
@@Jim-yh5ujthats the point Red wings had no draft lottery luck 4th was highest pick since he took over that sucks.if only Wings could have drafted Bedard or Jacck Hughes
@@bozidarborojevic4131 Yes, they had no lottery luck. Doesn't mean you give up and start signing players like Compher, Copp and Chiarot. Keep tanking until you get elite talent. Only way to do it.
You create a cap issue down the line when you have to finally sign raymond and seider to long term deals as they will likely cost more AAV after the bridge. Better to build steady and thoughtful for the next 5-8 years, not just the next 2-3 since we will likely not be cup contenders in that time frame.
@@Dogeekush if you pay them both 8-9 million then you won't have the cap to go out and sign players to make it a playoff team. And I still need to see them both play more consistently to give them massive contracts. I mean they could create cap space by buying out Copp and Holl or trading them but moving bad contracts costs high draft picks.
Why at the end of the day it’s kane’s decision. Guarantee steve will try to negotiate with a fair offer but it’s not up to him really. It’s up to kane’s preference on playoff certainty and how much money he is trying to max out with.
They signed Kane in the first place. Last year at this time it was would have been a wild rumor he would sign with the wings. It would be his best option to sign with the wings. They could also offer him a front office position when he retires.
They're not going anywhere with no superstars. Looks like Kane is gone. Raymond may be a star but him and Larkin aren't enough. Need to get Reinhart or Stamkos. Also need a goalie why did he not get Markstorm? Yzerman is way too slow and conservative.
@spencerdobkin9479 Markstrom had a no trade clause that he had to waive to be traded. If Markstrom didnt wanna go to Detroit theres nothing Yzerman could do about that.
@@bartsanders1553Calgary didn’t have any leverage as to where he was traded since Markstrom had a NTC. Even if Yzerman was willing to give up three first round picks, Calgary couldn’t trade him to us if Markstrom didn’t want to play in Detroit.
Once there's someone to share the burden with Larkin other teams won't be able to target him so, ppl say he's not elite but its just cause he's in an unwinnable fight so often.
His question about how late the season goes into summer is 100% valid. It is ridiculous. Yzerman won't be critical he doesn't want to give buttman any more ammo.
Bart how long do wings "fans" continue to give Yzerman a free pass? It's so pathetic. It's been almost a decade since they made the playoffs. There's 0 urgency to win and they have the wrong coach too.
@@spencerdobkin9479They've gotten better every year under Yzerman. Is it as quick as we want? Probably not, but I'm not gonna start bitching until they take a step back.
To any reporter that reads this. Please grill Steve on why he wouldn’t have put Walman on waivers. Give up a 2nd with a freshly extended young Dman with upside. Mind boggling at best. Not to mention essentially giving up Gibson for nothing. Yzerplan is starting to go up in flames. If the wings don’t make the playoffs next season I can’t see him staying as a GM for much longer call it a dumb take but he’s losing his touch with these trades and putting Detroit further into the abyss. “ oh they were so close last year how can you say that “ they were close because of how bad other teams were. Not that anyone of relevance will ever read this.
The first lady asking questions, we didn't tune in to hear you talk, we wanted to hear Steve talk. Make your questions more snappy and quick in the future please mama.
