We were one game shy of a state championship, McQueen high school in Reno beat us our senior year. Steven put up 34 total TD's on the scoreboard that year. Even though he didn't win a chip as a pro, I couldn't be more happier for how his career turned out to be a success. Steven Jackson is the running back equivalent of Matt Stafford: talented, statistically impressive, no meaningful playoff games due to organizational incompetence. I grew up on Steven Jackson's Rams and it was tragic, he never got a good QB, only had one and a half good coaches, and carried the team through an ugly decade. Worst part is he came right after the glory days, and retired because the next great era. He was incredible!

Watching those St. Louis teams from 2007-2011... Steven Jackson was the Rams offense. Everyone knew that Jackson was getting the ball. He had little to no help around him, yet he still found ways to rack up yards and touchdowns. He'll never get the recognition he truly deserves - probably because he was on some absolutely horrendous teams - but SJ39 will always be one of my favorite players of all time. I doubt he'll ever get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he deserves to be in the conversation. I was in St. Louis for the glory years of the Rams and the sh*t-show that ensued under Kroenke. Jackson was the only bright spot on an intentionally depleted team. He was a “very good” back that was tough, made the most of what and who he had to work with. Personally, I don’t think he hit the end-zone quite enough to be considered Hall Of Fame worthy though.
@myleslong5584
@myleslong5584 2 года назад
I believe he SHOULD be considered for HOF but,because of the crappy offensive squads that the Rams fielded year after year,he never will and that’s unfortunate. He didn’t hit the end zone enough because the Rams were too anemic to find the end zone as an offense. As you stated,the beloved Stan Donkey,I mean Kroenke made sure that St. Louis would not field a competitive team but,that’s another story. Steven Jackson will always be one of the greatest RB’s to ever tote the rock,HOF or not.

@robertnewell4054
@robertnewell4054 2 года назад
@@Terror832 …. I was testing to see who was paying attention 😆. Truth is SJ39 was never on a “winning” or dominate team. Look at the great Henry Ellard. Too much emphasis on Team records @ the expense of the Players true production
