That might be true. Gene Lebell loves to hook up and butt lick people with the big names. It's nothing odd if Gene lebell had really offered that service to Seagal.
I meant his magic flip over Genes back while he was offering to stretch him out and his stuttering explanation for what happened. Read the Kane Hodder book Unmasked. Kane is a legendary stunt man that worked on Out For Justice. He openly talked about in the book his experience of working Seagal and let it be known that there is no love loss in the stunt community with Seagal. He was no for sucker punching stunt men and injuring them on purpose for bragging rights. He talked about working with Chuck Norris and explained in contrast that Norris would treat the stunt team to dinner and drinks as a thanks for the risk they took for the greater good of the film.
Or he might be getting annoyed with it already. How would you feel if someone kept bringing up a degrading rumor about you and insisting it's true? Not saying who's telling the truth here, especially with Gene Lebells expertise. But you also have to understand that if it did happen, it's because Seagal got too cocky and gave Gene his back AND neck and probably underestimated his abilities at his age. If Prime Gene Vs Prime Seagal, do you really think Seagal would play around and take chances? Gene's a beast and anyone who knows about Gene knows it. But Seagal's a beast too. Underrated and underestimated but beast nonetheless.
I love how the biggest liars are always so willing to repeatedly call other liars. I know a guy who's a bit like Seagal, most of his life is made up and he KEEPS calling others liars all the time. In his world it seems the whole world lies except him.
Seagal claims he knew and met Bruce Lee at Lee's house many times, and he's got the NERVE!!! to call someone else a pathological liar? Un-be-lievable!!! Helwani set that one up perfectly.
Every time I've seen Mr. Helwani talk to Mr. Seagal he knows exactly how to piss him off without letting him catch on that he's pushing his buttons lol
a well known Judo master who taught Bruce Lee grapples and takedowns is called a lair by Segal, who is known to lie. Sorry but I think that Segal is talking out his rear. Segal shat himself silly when Gene put that sleeper hold on him, and Segal went nighty night.
You didn't know who Ronda Rousey was either back in 2012. Dana White is the UFC President and even he didn't know. She had her first strike force fight at the end of 2011. She fought for the strike force title literally 2 months before this video. Im not denying Seagal is a fool, but you're a fool for your justification.
I did know who she was since I followed strikeforce. I bet u think seagal is a real master lol. The nut thinks seagal is the same guys in the movies and I bet u think Sylvestor Stallone Is a real boxer because he was champion in the rocky movies haha.
@Doctor Drywell don't try pretend you know fighting or martial arts and then talk about aikido as if its a respected style lol.it's a joke and is only useful as a defensive tehneique against untrained attacker's
Sound Tribe You are so correct. He knows who she is because gene lebell chock Steven Seagal out and he shit in his pants because he thought chocks were fake lol. So Seagal knows shit
one thing that sticks to my mind is that it's strange with segal being from that japenese culture and appearing to have NO respect for his elders as in gene label. Respect for your elders is SUCH A BIG FACTOR in Japan and i'm surprised that steven isn't addressing that..
+13th Elm Productions This is Segal's go to move. Ask him about some figure that publicly said something negative about him.... he never knows who he/she is is or if that person is 'still alive'. Guy is just sad....and he calls Gene pathological liar.
Steven Seagal never lies as that would violate his Buddhist precepts and the honest way of all martial artists. So let us list the truths he has spoken: he has trained CIA operatives; is of Italian descent; fought the Yakuza single handedly; foremost expert on swords; student of the founder of Aikido; speaks 4 languages fluently; is an expert in playing the blues on guitar; and the list goes on and on. When I think of the epitome of a Buddhist, I think of Seagal. When I think of the best martial artist who ever lived, I think of Seagal. When I think of the most dangerous man to enter an all you can eat Chinese buffet, I think of Stevie.
What did I expect of a RU-vid comment section. If you're going to throw dirt and blindly spout baseless accusations maybe it's better to keep quiet until you're better informed? I've learned from the Hayastan dojo my whole life and I've known Gene since I was a baby. My father has trained and taught with Gene for nearly 20 years, my mother helped write his book. I visit him at his home. We are family. I can say without question he is the most humble, honest person I've ever known. But I forget that the internet is a place where fools congregate to hurl bullshit that they would never say to anyone's face at a man who has lived twice or three times as long as them and has contributed an unprecedented amount to the world of Martial Arts. He would never say that about himself, because that's the kind of person he is. It's a horrible shame that this is a debate, and to be honest it's kind of disgusting to see people try to put down a man like Gene because none of you would speak like this if you met him and learned from him. I urge anyone to at least reflect before they choose to rub their face on the keyboard. P.S. Friends of mine are stuntmen who worked with Seagal. On set he would purposely punch them in the balls. He's a bully, and kind of an ass.
I actually believe you buddy and I don't know you.....I believe you because of Seagals behavior. He has a huge ego, not a humble person what so ever, a total narcissistic character. Everything is about him and what he has done to make this world a better place, he's an ass.
I have met Gene as well and concur with Anime 100% IDK anything about the Seagal incident, But I do know you better be the Best In the world to have a chance against Gene, Even at his present age it isnt wise to annoy him, Otherwise he is a sweetheart of a Man.
AnimeFeverTime I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but Gene has a history of exaggerating going way back. (Milo Savage had brass knuckles under his gloves? No evidence, just Gene LeBell's word.) The fact is there is only one person who was there who claims Gene LeBell choked out Steven Seagal, and that's Gene LeBell. Everyone else on that side of the argument is just repeating Gene's version based on trusting and liking Gene and hating Steven - but they weren't there and therefore their OPINION has no value. Meanwhile all the other witnesses on the set, those that have come forward, ALL attest that no choking out of Seagal occurred. As others have pointed out, it would be extremely unlikely for any such choking out to occur on the set due to the highly regulated and insured nature of movie production. (Think of it. Producers and security are going to let a multi-million dollar project schedule and the employment of many others be put in jeopardy by allowing the star of a movie to indulge in that kind of childish roughhousing?) If this really happened there would be witnesses and photos. Their absence is like a deafening silence. It never happened. I have read a lot of good things about Gene LeBell in addition to his occasional exaggerating. But you can't let your knowledge of his good side completely blind you. You like him. You've known him almost all your life. You have a well-reasoned BIAS to support him. But you weren't there. There are some bad stories about Steven Seagal, about his arrogance, etc. But just because he might've deserved to have been choked out doesn't mean it actually happened.
Robert Mayer Friend. I've seen Gene's bad side, and I've FELT Gene's bad side on the mat. Obviously I'm not saying the man is a saint, but you can't claim biases and tell me not to let my "Knowledge of his good side" cloud my judgement while your only reference of the man is from what you've read from 2nd/3rd hand sources. What you say about Seagal is right; I wasn't there so I can't know 100%. This is why I've only relayed the stories from the stuntmen and actors I've met who have worked with him, or am I to assume they have a history of exaggeration as well? My comment was not made to validate his or Seagal's actions, it was in response to those who shit on his character as a person with little to no basis-- a person whom I've known since birth.
+Robert Mayer you weren't there and know nothing about the film business. What witnesses do you speak of. What's their names? I bet all of them are friends of Gene. Did Gene get fired that day? If he did why?
he couldnt hold back his smirk anymore after saying that last bit... whahaha :D must be so hard to try to make any serious compliment to seagal.... '^_^
My step dad worked on set with the dude that he keeps calling a legendary stunt coordinator and he told my step dad indeed he pissed his pants. Segal has a bad case of wanting to be more bad ass than he is. he hits people when they are off guard on set and expects to get away with it. i heard this story before i even saw this video. thought id inform everyone lol
You're in luck! You won't have to waste any more time responding to comments on this or any other video on this channel because you've just become the first person I've ever blocked. Keep your comments civil or you're out of here, people!
Bob Wall is the one that told the story the most. Bob Wall is a competitive Karate champion that would pick Seagal apart. Bob Wall and Gene LeBell have both competed at a professional level that goes way further than doing demonstrations with obsequious, somersaulting students. Jean Claude Van Damme challenged Seagal to a fight twice after years of Seagal badmouthing him and Seagal denied that it ever happened even though it happened at Sylvester Stallone's house with many witnesses. Francis Fong also smacked him in the face after he put a wristlock on Dan Inosanto after a polite handshake and Seagal laid on the ground, also denied that that had ever happened. The guy is afraid of getting his ego bruised and threatens legal action on anybody that threatens it, male or female. Losing fights happens to the best of them, but if you think you're an infallible God I guess it makes it that much harder to take.
周圍貢 Please tell me you're joking before you dish out the insults. He was the AAU Judo National Judo Champion two years in a row. Credentials that go further than Seagal's.
周圍貢 I'm absolutely aware of what the term amateur means, he also had a televised match against Milo Savage to prove his skill. Name one competitive event Seagal has ever been in, Hollywood movies and flipping obsequious Aikido student in a demonstration do not count.
The guy claimed to be a CIA hotshot in Japan, doing "special works and special favors for very powerful people"; tried to hire a hitman; said he was in the mafia (they bullied him - The End); sexually harassed numerous women; tried to set someone up to be "caught in a homosexual act"; had a reporter harassed by putting a dead fish with a rose in it's mouth through a hole in her windshield; said he was mixed up in the Yakuza... the list goes on and ON! Look it up yourself!
You don't have to like Steven Seagal, but to disrespect him in anyway is just absurd. He is a legend, period. If you've ever learned or appreciated ANY fighting art/style then that's just common knowledge.
You forgot that when they run away they run away screaming how dangerous they are so it is for this they don't fight. In short: "I will break anybody's asses", guy comes: "now show me how you do it", "I cannot do it because I'm too dangerous".
Another actor who was a very legit martial artist is Dolph Lundgren. He was a championship kickboxer and while shooting Rocky 4, he accidentally hit Stallone hard enough that the area around his heart began to swell so badly that Sly had to stay in intensive care. One punch From Dolph would probably make Seagal shit himself.
Plus. Seagal has bragged that he was the first to own and run a dojo in Japan. Another lie. In fact, the dojo was owned by his mother-in-law and managed by his wife, herself a black belt. THANKS TO THEM he is a "master" in aikido. Seagal has also boasted of his courage in battling criminals. Sometimes the thugs are members of the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia; other times, they are mere garden-variety criminals. "I jumped right in their faces," Seagal told Movieline. "I was a tenacious motherfucker, man, and I was fearless". "It is a lie" Fujitani told Spy. Before he left Japan in 1980, Seagal told her, "I always do the right thing; I never will betray you" According to Fujitani, he then availed himself of her savings and hied off to America, where, without bothering to divorce her, he married Adrienne La Russa in 1984. The guy is a totally EGOMANIAC big joke, not a fighter.
Seagal is not only a black belt in Aikido, but he has 8th dan. Besides that he began with Karate and Judo. Seagal is a real martial artist and can fuck anybody up real bad even today's top MMA-elite.
@@DjElBravoKingOfDaBeat atleat they wont shit themselves lol, but no really, dudes a fat shit who cant even pretend to fight people properly in his sad little demonstrations.
Sokan1993 I don't expect anyone to do anything of the sort, I am only pointing out that they don't do it. You are exactly the kind of coward that I was referring to though, you say all kinds of things that you wouldn't say to a man's face, plane ticket or not.
Seagal said if someone doesn´t believe him you should ask stunt coordinator Conrad Palmisano about the incident. I can tell you that I once read an interview with Palmisano and he said that there was no fight between Seagal and LeBell. He confirmed the story that Seagal told on the MMA Hour. By the way Conrad Palmisano was the stunt coordinator of Seagal´s "Out for Justice".
Conrad Palmisano relayed the story for Black Belt Legends magazine back in the 90's. He said exactly what Seagal said and Palmisano is one of, if not the greatest stunt coordinator in history. A very honest person and found the story to be hilarious. He was there along with several others on set. Lebelle and Seagal were actually quite friendly to each other and were honored to meet each other. Lebelle has also said that he destroyed Bruce Lee too. I'm most surprised that people believed this.
Seagal shit himself end of story. Kevin Hart, ice cube has both talked about it let alone others in the fight game. At least seagal as stopped talking in a black accent.
I said *real fight*, not ring fight. The two are not the same things, you know. Maybe you will not believe that what you see in TV in MMA is not the way skilled fighters fight in a real fight, because the parameters are completely different, but that's how it is.
How is his opinion about Rousey a lie? It's not. Besides, he's just exaggerating, like any one his age would do when talking about someone so talented and young whom they are so fond of. There's nothing foolish about that. In fact, it's quite an endearing quality. That's why so many love and respect him. Same can't be said about seagal. It's obvious Lee learned grappling from someone. Gene and Bruce knew each other, so it's no stretch to think they trained together.
Actually what is yours? A lot of people do not like Steven Segal I get it. But if you are going to criticize the dude the last thing you are going to criticize is his skill and training.
Seagal has the mentality of a 14 year old, except instead of saying "my dad can beat up your dad" he says "I beat up your dad with one hand tied behind my back".
No joke, Gene Lebell is National Hero, the strongest, biggest and toughtest man in the universe. The person with great personality, never talk down other people. The honest never liar. A person never out of shape. The first MMA in human history. Without him UFC/strike force will never exit. He can easily toying Steven Seagal, ass kicking Van damme, cruch Bruce Lee, destroy Ali, rape Tyson / George Forman. No one can match his superhuman ability. No anybody like him before, no another Gene Lebell ever again. He redefine judo and make a great contribution to the martial arts world. Gracie family's Brazilian jiu jitsu is also inspire by him. Simply the UFC icon, without him no one will watching UFC and he is also the Top 100 most inspiration people in the last century by time magazine.
You're right, just about anyone can get a black belt, but Joe Rogan has been studying BJJ since 1998 and just got his black belt this year. He didn't pay to get it, he earned it. He received a black belt in Taekwondo before that. Name one fighting in the UFC that specializes in Aikido. SS is overweight, and studied an artform that is for show. He's an actor after all. He's never fought a real fight. I respect that he studied for 20 years but he has no advantage over real fighters.
My mistake regarding Seagal's age, I thought he was a little younger. However, according to the July 1977 issue of Black Belt magazine (the 1st issue of said magazine Seagal appeared in) Seagal moved to Japan in March of 1973, a few months before Lee died in Hong Kong. Seagal used to say he knew Bruce through James Coburn, but when did he meet Coburn? My guess would be after Seagal opened his dojo in L.A. in the 80s. I don't believe for a second Seagal knew Lee at all.
