Never listen to people who tell you to "never" write certain things lol (yes that was an ironic usage). Here its an important moment that gives the "Who am I? WHO AM I?" all its energy. Sometimes the needs of the plot outweight the needs of "song without context replayability." I like both versions tho.
@@christianj5950 They're not saying that you can't break a song with an interlude by using dialogue. They're suggesting not to include the dialogue as a core component of a song. "Other Friend"'s problem is that dialogue and vocals are on the same layer, so without going out of your way to edit the voiced and karaoke versions together, you can't take the dialogue out and leave only the vocals. This is explicitly off-putting because of the song being very short: while the initial dialogue creates actual build-up to the start of the song, the dialogue in the interlude instead interruputs it which gets very annoying in terms of replayability. Note that this is not an issue, for example, in a song like "Be Prepared", where transition between song and interlude and then again song feels more natural even on no-context replays, in big part exactly because of the song's length.
