@@pkabbah6165 It is HARD. You have to jump off the broken pillar closest to the screen, then across to the arch (as Steven, and you have to double jump). Then you have to walk carefully around the arch (in front, in front, in back, in that order) very carefully or you'll end up getting stuck or falling and have to start the whole process over. Carefully make your way around and it's right at the end of the arch before the treasure chests, but you can't see it because of the camera. It took me forever and many frustrated screams. Return to the bottom and then put both pieces in, see the touching memorial that Bismuth made, and you'll obtain the schematic.

You get it later in the course of the game. It's called a Hoosewhatsit or something and looks like an orange triangle.
