Something to also consider is that the positions of the diamonds in the old symbol could show a sign of rank. White Diamond could be the supreme leader (and possibly the largest) while Rose would be the smallest and lowest in the diamond rank.

Rebeecca Sugar managed to shatter(pun intended) a WIDE spread theory of the fandom and then make a fool out of all of us showing that the theory she made us abandon was in fact right all along. THAT is genius writing folks

Maybe when Rose started the rebellion, the other diamonds stripped her of her diamond authority which led to changing her form and she was further classified as "Rose Quartz"? That's why Steven didn't recognize the mural, she changed from a diamond form to a Rose Quartz form?

in the mural in "it could have been great" pink diamond is standing on rose quartz gems. The same ones that power lion and Rose's spaceship. Not sure what this means but could be evidence that she is pink diamond.

Coming back to this 8 years later.

I think Crewniverse is playing us. I think throughout the series they are going to give evidence to support and evident to disprove. Possibly at the end of the show two sides will be created and it will be revealed at the end. But I dunno.

I think the biggest thing that makes it lean toward rose being pink diamond is that the show creators repeatedly and deliberately avoid showing so much of a smidgen of pink diamond. that seems like a lot of guff to go through to torment the fandom and keep us guessing. pearl is white, that doesnt mean they hide white diamond to make us speculate that pearl could be white diamond. we know she isnt and they show her, but why deliberately hide pink diamond to simply build suspense to keep us guessing?

I think that the next step would be to determine where the actual Pink Diamind went or what happened to her. And to do that I think we need to analyze each Diamond's role in their matriarchy. In the Moonbase Murals, each Diamond was depicted doing something, or in a certain pose. That makes me think that they each had a specific purpose or domain that they controlled. And because Honeworld removed the Pink Diamond symbol after the rebellion, they would no longer have control over Pink Diamond's domain or purpose.

So,go ahead tell them. Do you think anybody will believe you -Rebecca (probably years ago when she saw the theory)

The reason I so thoroughly enjoy your theory videos is because of the respectful separation of facts and observations, from ideas of your own. It is a pain to click on a theory video and have unsupported conclusions being spat out left and right. As for this video itself, very good timing. Steven Bomb 4 gave us a lot to process and the rose diamond theory was the last thing on my mind. I am glad you made it front and center and gave me another reason to rewatch the most recent steven bomb!

To me it was Jasper who confirmed that Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond. This is a fairly odd explanation but hear me out. When Jasper describes Amethyst, Pearl, Garnet and Steven she speaks as if Rose is the only Rose Quartz. Jasper described Pearl as "a" lost and defected pearl. "a" puny overcooked runt to describe Amethyst, and "this" shameless display to describe Garnet. However she said "You have the power "of" Rose Quartz" rather than "You have the power "of a" Rose Quartz". This makes me believe that Rose is not a mass produced Gem and possibly pink diamond.

Out of all the true SU theories, i think this one was the hardest to actually get right so, well done 👍🏼

When I first heard of Rose Diamond theory, I liked the idea, but honestly all this new information over time has made me lean more towards the idea of Rose just being a high-up gem, perhaps analogous to Sapphire or something. I like to think her job involved culturing production of new gems or something along those lines, but who knows.

I love watching your theory videos on Steven Universe and my husband I go back and forth about the theory, were are kinda in the middle about the whole thing and we noticed a few things....one thing we did notice is yeah we believe that Rose was a general which we were able to tie back to Jasper saying that she admired her tactics in the first war; but even with that look at the Temple the Gems reside in, it looks like a fusion and we notice a gem on the head as well as the chest and her hair is made up of roses (I dont want to even get into what I think here yet, lol) and why does Rose have a shrine so were a bit stumped there seeing how the only ones who have shrines or temples seems to be the Diamonds. Also, when pearl and Rose shows up to fight in Blue Diamonds court we couldn't help but notice that Pearl has her gem on her head which follows with White Diamond now just follow us here.... Peridot stated before that pearls were pretty much "Made to Order" and we already see that Homeworld pearls reflect their owners. What made pearl rebel? Everyone so far has a color scheme that reflects there gem now except pearl, she wears a little bit of everything? Help us fill in if you can! Keep up the great work btw :-)

I have a theory that Rose was a high ranking quartz gem under pink diamond. In the sky arena, the statues seem to be more the champions of the diamonds', and I have a feeling the statue that is destroyed is of Rose. She may have been created as a Rose Quartz to be a field medic as well as a soldier, which could mean she was given more empathy to suffering in order to help her teammates--but this same empathy is what made her turn against homeworld in order to save the Earth

Wow, amazing how on the ball some fans are. I didn't really check out the community back when I watched the show sometimes, but I guess I avoided some spoilers even if they weren't sure about them. It is neat to go back after the fact and see how some people called it. First with the Garnet is a fusion thing, and now the Rose is Pink Diamond thing. Both things that utterly surprised me, though looking back at all the evidence I could see how people paying close enough attention could have figured it out. It's kind of like mystery stories where those paying close enough attention to all the clues can figure it out ahead of time, but others get to the end where the story spells it out and then it's like facepalm when it all makes perfect sense.

There's the idea that the Diamonds are permafusions, like Garnet. Perhaps when 2 Gems with the same stone placement fuze, the stone changes shape? If it does, then what if there were 2 Rose Quartz, and when fuzed their gem changes to a diamond shape? It would allow for her to be just as tall as the other Diamonds, and would explain the difference in Gem Shape. Speculation, yes. But they're setting up something big here.

I like how this theory during the time is 90% right. This all makes sense. He just didn’t know how she was but was super close, that she shapeshifted but it was the gem part like the thumbnail. Also I remember seeing this theory a long time ago, years ago.

The fact that im watching this after finishing SU like a year ago makes me think that fans has literally got rose being pink diamond being true after episode of the series I didn't even realized that fans would make theories like this but anyways love these hints that fans thought of while watching SU from 8 years ago

This is the hallmark of a well thought out show, that you could logically deduce a plot twist but yet most being still sidelined by it

with all of the continuity the show has given us i think that anything as big as steven not recognizing his mother on the moon base or how our pearl isn't pink to match rose just makes it seem extremely unlikely that rose is pink diamond

I remember the day the episode was released that shows that Rose was the pink diamond, before I knew it had been released, I had dreamed on the very day that Rose was the pink diamond, when I went to tell my friend about it he told me said about the episode and that she was really the pink diamond, I was euphoric.
