My God politics destroys everything. I'm not sure how much time and money I have devoted to Van Zandt, Floyd, Spandeau, Rockonteurs, etc. but it's a lot. And it has brought me a lot of joy. It's so disappointing to find out that Steven (clearly), Guy and Gary (apparently) consider me a hopeless racist who "can't abide the black man" because given the two shitty options I had, I chose the Republican last time. I enjoy respectful discussion, enjoy art created by people with whom I might disagree and think both parties in the US are complete shit. But I don't want to patronize people who hate me. Wish I had never listened to this.
