How sweet. They don’t look at each other as competitors but as team mates with deserved respect. They are both great contributors and I love both of them.
R.I.P., Christine McVie. One of the most gifted musicians, song writers and singers ever. Such a humble and classy woman, beauty on the outside and emanating from her wise soul. You will be greatly missed forever and never forgotten, Songbird. 🕊🌹🎤🪗🎼🧡🎹
I love this friendship so much. One time, on stage Lindsey had tried to kick and trip Stevie. After the performance, Christine found him. And slapped him. She admitted that he was the only person she had ever slapped. It’s sweet that Chris would do that for her❤️
Yes Lindsey was an ass and very abusive to Stevie. Stevie is a strong person and am surprised she put up with his abuse. He kicked, mocked, and hit her. Before Fleetwood Mac they made an album called Buckingham Nicks. Lindsey insisted she do the cover topless even when she said she didn't want to. He told her angerly stop being such a f____g child and do it!! Good for Christine for smacking him one!
@@Vikinggirl1679 I've read Buckingham was abusive to the whole band during some of their recording sessions. I've read stories about pulling guns on people. I don't know how much truth there is to it, it's just what I've read.
What a nice thing to say.. watching Chris in action she has always seemed to me that she would be someone that I would really enjoy knowing and have as a Friend. Chris has such a Great Personality.. I love to hear her Sing, Talk, Joke and just be who she is. She is Christine McVie! No one like her in this whole wide world and Never will be.. Miss U Beautiful Songbird RIP ❤
I saw FM on the last tour with Christine. When we gave her a standing Ovation, she started to cry. Stevie loves to tell stories between songs. It was Magnificent.
I can honestly say there's never really been much drama directly between Christine and Stvie. Chris is direct, no nonsense and strictly about the music and always respected Stevie's talent
I heard they had friction before, Stevie have been affected by Christine calling her a mad woman with obsession about writing . The sad part is that she never wrote anything better during her solo career.
Gunnhild Edwards She (Christine) is good friend with Lindsay too, the only one to reach out to him, when he was kicked out this time again, interesting after such a song and dance by Stevie about the band this time she’s going on a solo tour, seems it’s what suits Stevie when it suits, I’m am a fan of hers have loved her voice, her music, but there is always 2 sides and this one is not an easy relationship between her and Lindsay. just respect both sides, not take sides, that’s what true friends should do.
Great to see. Stevie has always looked up to Christine like an older sister, even dispite her own personal success, she knows Chistine gave her the confidence and great opportunity to join the band, great series of interviews.
Christine a lovely looking woman who graduated from art school and played quite a few musical instruments, sang, wrote songs and was a pleasant natured person with a good sense of humor. So much to admire about her.
I love them both -- like yin and yang. They are like light and the dark illuminating each other, and you are never quite sure which one is light and which is dark.
Everyone was all googoo eyed over Stevie back when I was in high school around the Rumors era. Not me....I was all about that beautiful Christine. Damn I had a massive crush on her. 😍😍😍😍
Watched this most hilarious moment in the beginning between the two of those amazing girls a lot of times and now it's not the same without Christine! She was amazing - soulful, precise, and just so talented! Rip Christine Mcvie 💖💖💖
They always seemed like real friends who care about each other. .....their warm connection was apparent and was one of the nicest parts of the band s cache
In good times or bad times (in terms of the broken relationships that all the band members had with one another), they still sticked together. Because the chain keep them together (love that part with the riff at the end).
The love and affection between Christine and Stevie is well known among Fleetwood Mac fans. It's a beautiful thing. Two completely different personalities and approaches to art but their mutual love and respect for one another has endured. I imagine is has undergone a huge test since Lindsey was fired from the band as Christine and he are dear friends. Rumors abound that it was a Stevie/Mick lead decision. Christine did not appear happy in the post firing interviews. I have read and listened to some wonderfully candid quotes from Christine about Stevie over the decades and she is quite funny as she speaks lovingly of Stevie.
Lindsey was fired because he did not want to tour until November 2019. Rumors are there was intense pressure from the bands management to go on tour now. Stevie has also said that she is ready to tour now. The irony is the band was on hiatus for two years waiting for her to finish her last very successful tour. There is money to be had -- not that Fleetwood Mac needs it -- but management, promoters -- the machine, wants that money. Very sad way to leave the legacy. Christine just turned 75 -- hard to think that they may tour with Lindsey again in the future. But we can only hope .........
What's the Frequency: Thanks for all that info. Yes, it is a sad way to leave the legacy. I do hope that Lindsey comes back. It's just not the same without him.
Well Lindsey did not want to your until September 2019, that was the whole reason for the firing, I guess Mick Fleetwood did not want to wait for 2 years later to tour..this should be their last tour..i think?
I would almost say Stevie was the driving force behind Lindsey's firing. She didn't contribute to the Buckingham McVie album and both Mick and John played on it. Also, Stevie and Lindsey have had a rocky relationship since the 70s (case in point: Stevie didn't appear on most of Lindsey's songs for the Tango in the Night album)
@@cherylhulting1301 She is an Angel. Funny enough that I saw a concert video of them performing without her in 2004, where they played in Boston. They even played "Don't Stop". Stevie sung the second verse instead of Christine.
When you have a random though like 'I wonder how old Christine is these days' then realise you've spent the best part of two days watching Christine videos!! What a lady!
Christine McVie is elegant humble ,beautiful, down to earth, absolutely amazing musician ♥️ ❤️ ,amazing songwriter, and a phenomenal performer with experience and excellence 🎉🎉. She was the big sister that Stevie Nicks needed at the time, during her journey thru the music 🎶 🎵 world and just through life as well. She gave a lot of her sage advice in her 🎵 🎶, we will miss you our beautiful Songbird ❤❤❤RIP,Christine McVie, your beautiful and phenomenal voice will be heard in heaven now 🎉🎉
It's uncanny how Stevie Nicks persona is like Chaka Khan's. And I read that Chaka is friends with Christine McVie and she did a cover of her song Everywhere. The music is industry is a small world.
I am so glad that they are such good friends. I thought they did not like each other for some reason. So glad I was completely wrong. I love Stevie Nicks, but Fleetwood Mac isn’t Fleetwood Mac without all the original members.
Nicks and McVie are like Agnetha and Frida in ABBA, fans always compare both females in a group and think of them as being rivals but it turns out the women has always been like sisters to each other ... Fleetwood Mac and ABBA are among the biggest bands ever in the history of music and they are so similar in many ways (not musically though), love them both ...
Jose Cardenas you know Buckingham was out of FM before right? For nearly TEN YEARS. And he eventually came back. I have a feeling, he’ll be back this time too...
"Original members" of Fleetwood Mac: Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Jeremy Spencer, John McVie (1967). Christine joined in 1970. Nicks and Buckingham in '74/'75.
They were so young beautiful ❤️ and always will be We all need a good friend especially in youth. We grow old they 🕊️. I never knew about that abuse. Love is really strange but he loved her and Chris loved Lindsey. Some way they all forgave ea other. I find this inspiration healing
The more old footage and newer interviews I watch, I feel like I get why they keep breaking up, then reuniting, wash, rinse, repeat. They all really do have a love for eachother, and they share a long history...but they also have a lot of shared pain.
Love the airiness of Christine's voice. Like a sweet summer breeze. And the register she sings in. Like no other I've heard. My Qobuz account is loaded with 99% country artists like Martina McBride, Jo Dee Messina, Crystal Gayle, Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Suzy Boggus, Shelby Lynn, Dottie West, Lorrie Morgan, Connie Smith, Dawn Sears, Tammy Wynnette, Patsy Cline, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood, Sara Evans, Emmylou Harris, Reba...and then Christine, the only one from a different genre. She's truly a shining star.
Christine is one of my favorite singers, perfectly matched to some of Macs slower tunes, so Bluesy, smooth and melodic. Was good even before Mac, when she was with Chicken Shack.
I would have loved to have Christine McVie as an older sister ! She was wonderful & Kind Warm & loving Person ! John Perfekt is so lucky ! Fleetwood Mac was beyond lucky to have had a life with Her ! My Heart goes out to john Perfekt & Fleetwood Mac for the loss of Christine ! Christine this is to you ( I Wish you All the Love in the World Ah But most of all I Wish it from myself 💕💕🙏🙏 I Love you , I Love you , I Love you like never before 💕💕❤️❤️🙏🙏🌼🏵️🌸🌺🍀💐🇺🇸🇩🇪💛❤️💛💚 ( Beautiful Songbird ) Sweet Lady ! ❤️💛💙💚
Yeah they were such good friends they hadn’t seen or spoken to each other after the last tour ended in Nov 2019. Christine died Nov 2022. Three years no contact. Stevie admitted it.
@Rick Miller hah, I am happy she is healthy now. I adore her. Saw then live two years ago. I only hope to age that well. She looks amazing for her age now. #healthylifestyle
To Stevie nicks we've all made mistakesyou are still one awesome singer of this world I just want you to know that we all done things wrong in our life the way it mean to do to me you are like the third wonder of the world absolutely love your music
Stevie & Chris have admiration for one another. I think nobody understood what it was like in their world being women in the 70’s other than them. I think Christine is a beautiful person & so is Stevie although they’re very different from one another.
Christine McVie never gets the credit she deserves, both as a vocalist and as a Damn good looking woman. Stevie Nick's was probably as beautiful a woman as any female in music history. In my opinion, the way she looked in the click pic, even if she didn't sing, with the proper preparation she could've been Miss America. Really, how many Miss Americas have you seen that were any better looking? I've seen many Miss America's, but NONE who were any more beautiful. But Christine was pretty damn good looking in her own right. Many Fleetwood Mac songs wouldn't be the same without her. Second Hand News, but NOT second hand looks and talent........
@@johng669 yea many of the guys in other bands at the time were after Stevi once she and Lindsay split. I know after Don Henley there was Joe Walsh. God poor Lindsay had to witness all that. That must have been so hard on him
My expectation: I’ve always wondered about their relationship, and considering that both these women made FM what it is, so my guess was two alpha females in the group would be a catfight from start to finish. The reality: Stevie Nicks seems so appreciative of Christine McVie and almost sees her as a mentor/best friend much the same way that Christine cares for Stevie Nicks. The sad part is you can see how much it hurts Stevie Nicks that they are no longer in contact with each other. She opens the door for her each time hoping that she’ll rejoin the band again.
When Mick, John and Christine went to the US and eventually met with Stevie and Lindsey was probably the biggest turning point in the bands history..Surely whatever has happened, Lindsey deserves more respect than to be sacked and unbelievable that Stevie appears to be the driving force to remove him.. After what they have all been through, it seems very sad that they cannot resolve the differences and agree its not the same Mac to me anymore... Without Lindsey would Rumours ever happened ?
Like she said "Fleetwood Mac Mcvie" only, plus Buckingham Nicks! Although they are still great minus a member here or there for a bit, they are AMAZING when it's all of them!!! Each person brings a talent that is uniquely their own yet, blend together & we as listeners are graced with THE unique sound THAT IS FLEETWOOD MAC. Also, although Christine is an instrumentalist in playing the piano, & might not want to be a front person, she - her voice- is totally capable of doing so. I think it's the blend of her velvety voice & Stevie's sort of gravelly, soulfulness that really brings some of their songs to the forefront of perfection. And we mustn't forget about Lindsey!
Well, if I had a choice. This is easy. I'd take Stevie. No, I'd take Christine. No, I'd take Stevie. No, I'd take Christine. No, I'd take Stevie. I'd take Christine. I'd take Stevie. I'd take Christine. I'd take....Oh forget it.
