Even now, if stevie released a new album of only demos done 40 years ago, it would become her biggest selling album. I know the music industry and internet scares her now but I wish she would just do it - she has nothing to lose.
My dear James1967, I myself am a trac3y1955 and never once had the perception there could come a time Stevie would be considered "in her prime". Well, here it is mere days from beginning 2023 [ making me 67 & my beautiful Stevie @ the age of 74 with only 2 weeks since Christine McVie passed 🥺 ]. It was 1975 when first hearing the euphonious sound of Stevie's voice, sharing the story of a woman named Rhiannon 💝 I have been enchanted from that on. oH my sweet Jesus, how time does pass so fucking quickly changing essentially everything about a person, say perchance, the sound of one's (her) voice . So, I think my dear James1967, perhaps a more civilized, kinder way of expressing your thought might have been "THANK GOD THE MUSIC LIVES ON".....
Jeremy, this has been my favourite Stevie song now for 2 months ~ I'm SO EXCITED to finally have everyone hear it! It's SO Epic! "And as the Legend says, 'This time you won't get away...' Something like that... Poet... Priest of nothing... Legend..."
This is a rare demo indeed. It's so difficult to "not respect" Stevie's desire to keep her raw material private when we who love her voice so much recognize a priceless recording and just "NEED" to share it with the world, lest it NEVER be heard at all.
Interesting this was done with Joe Walsh. If it's Stevie....I like it.....mostly, I LOVE IT!!! She does NOT disappoint!!!! Only songwriter that I literally "FEEL" the words, music.....seriously. Always have...from the start! There is some connection........ ~
Priest of Nothing: Instrumental of the song released on the Joe Walsh album But Seriously, Folks... album as "Inner Tube/Theme From Boat Weirdos" although without contributions from Nicks
Thank you. Really cool song. I love her voice . She has different voices and they’re all so wonderful because when Stevie Nicks sings she sings from her soul, her own real place in life. It’s very beautiful and touches so many people, not just her very, very dedicated base of fans but someone you’ll just mention her name and say something referring to her because of her music and almost everyone says, ‘I love Stevie Nicks, oh I love that one song” true!🎸😊😘🦆
This recording is a perfect example of "Brilliance on drugs!" Now before anyone lashes out at me, Stevie recorded MANY songs "under the influence!" I actually prefer her more "looser, uninhibited vocals", so this is right up my alley!!!
@@WelshWarlockI feel the same way. I don't remember if I saw that concert, I think I did but I'm not sure I've seen so many of hers. Do you know if she has ever sang Rock a little live? It's one of my favorite non demo songs (I really love her demos, most of the time more than her released songs) & I would love to hear a live version of that
You and me both, Mike... I just love this song. I can't even listen to the Joe Walsh version since I heard this first... that one seems so empty without Stevie's vocals!
maybe, because Walsh is actually pretty empty, I see him as pretty much a waste of space to be honest and I do think their relationship was entirely drug fueled (I had a couple of those myself in the distant past) and I wanted to kick him in the face when I heard him say what he did about Stevie on Howard Stern - he is a true pig, she has very poor taste in men IMO, but then I'm partial and just hope that someone truly loves her and treats her right I know her "coven of Gold Dust Women" do though so that's comforting, and Christine always has.
@@arlaabrell8658 I always thought he was an ass for breaking her heart and also that song real long way to go was about him. What did you say about her on Howard Stern?
@@audaciousred I broke someones heart once when I was a 24 yr old drunk and the biggest ass that ever lived. I'll never forgive myself for it. She found love and went on. I didn't......Joe has been my favorite musician since 1970. Maybe Stern struck a chord in Joe that he just could not transpose. It's really no ones business anyway. Oh, I almost forgot. I finally wrote a letter of apology to Her. It took me 41 years of agonizing over it. Life is funny,.. I guess.
@@arlaabrell8658 Stern implied that Stevie might be the 'Finest song writer EVER "..Joe hesitated to agree, so Stern said "you don't agree Joe?" Joe said truthfully that musicians go back hundreds of years, and to say that anyone from our era was the very best would be an unfair statement. Joe's mother was a concert pianist, he was probably thinking along those lines. It was not at all a put down to Stevie. Joe then agreed that Stevie was one of the best. He wasn't denying her credit. Stern was an asshole by saying "Christ you must of really screwed her up bad" etc. Joe Walsh is no Pig!!......Google the interview and watch what I mean. What I said is almost verbatim.
It initially sounds like Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, but it's original enough that I think she should re-record this, possibly to make the Buckingham McVie album a full Fleetwood Mac album.
She really loved Joe, she said he was the absolute love of her life and he was such a jerk. Of course no one knows what happens behind closed doors but he said some really ungentlemanly things about her on Howard Stern. I've never heard her say anything negative about him. I don't remember exactly what he said but I remember Howard having to really push him into sing anything nice about her and in the end the only nice thing he said was without her The Confessor wouldn't have been made. I've read a lot about her which has made me not like her as a person but she still deserved better. You don't drag an ex like that especially in the media
The music is on Joe Walsh's 1978 album But Seriously, Folks... As two separate tracks, "Inner Tube" and "Theme From Boat Weirdos". Stevie utilized those two instrumentals and wrote this song, which unfortunately has never been released. "Priest Of Nothing" may not even be the title. It was named that when Mike Bise purchased the tape it was on, which didn't have it's title on it. Maybe if we get a RAL this song will finally have it's glory.
