No female singer can claim timeless significance like Stevie. Her growling vibrato has hypnotic abilities beyond explaining. Great yesterday, today, and forever. She IS that good.
Yeah, she's got one of a kind tone. In "After The Glitter Fades," she sounds like across between Dolly Parton and one of those prolific female Country voices of the early half of the 20th century. She's so at home and in the pocket there, whilst also being one of the greatest female voices in the history of RnR.
My eternal sunshine moonshine and star shine! Look deeply into her soulful hypnotic eyes as you fall into the songs dusky voice vibrato, rock on my Queen
@@tiffanyroseangeles34 I think you will understand me. I took my wife to Stevie at Tinley Park Illinois concert I had front row seats, I honestly forget what year this was. Stevie came down and was shaking hands touching the crowd and I just missed her finger. To this day it bothers me that I missed touching an angel and generational talent and most importantly national treasure. I hope that being in close proximity brought me some of the magic. I’m too much of a gentleman to have aggressively grabbed at her hand. That gives me some solace 😉
bruce wouters I was quoting her. Apparently you didn't even listen to the demo. And if you did, you need to listen again because that's what she says in the beginning when she makes a mistake. So please don't tell me what to do. smh.
All those years of being a fan of Fleetwood Mac, listening on the radio, going to Concerts, never stopped to consider the real gift. Stevie Nick's writing.
I saw Fleetwood Mac at U C's Folsom Field in Boulder in 1977, back when Stevie and Lindsey were very much a thing . i'll never forget that concert . i read where they both did a lot of the writing for Rumors in the area that i was living in Colorado at the time, and that she was in Aspen writing "Landslide" while i was living there . ah, i wish that i had run into her.
U & me both! I'm just learning all about her history and that of Fleetwood Mack, the songwriting, etc. It's almost as though Stevie & Lindsey helped FM out by letting them join up, as it seems all the greatest FM hits were written by them two.
This song is so, so awesome. I feel sorry for people who didn't track it down after hearing it in Fast Times. I've loved it since the first time I heard it. 💕
Don't be sorry for me, thank you. I have only discovered this marvelous musician in the last 8 months and what a ride it has been! And it seems I've only just begun...
There is no one like Stevie Nicks. No one. There never has been, and there never will be again. We are all so incredibly lucky to have heard this great lady’s magical voice. How any woman can be so mystically beautiful, inside and out, is beyond my comprehension. Knowing how much pain she has gone through in her life, her failed relationships, losing her best friend Robin at the height of Fleetwood Mac’s popularity-I just want to hug her. In an interview once, s long time ago, she said that it was Robin who taught her to be strong. Stevie’s strength, and her vulnerability, come across in every line she sings. She is not merely a vocalist. She is a storyteller. Fleetwood Mac is a prodigiously talented band. Vocally, musically, and from a songwriting perspective. But you really get a sense for how dynamic, and uniquely gifted each member is when they are doing their own music. Then, they are not part of a greater whole, making compromises to satisfy four other band mates. They are relying solely on their unique gifts and artistic vision. And what gifts. Stevie has eclipsed every other female vocalist in popular music, in my humble opinion, save one. Ann Wilson. There are other great female singers, but those two ladies are the gold standard. Their ability to infuse their singing with so much emotion sets them apart.
I've heard other similar vocalists over the years every now and then. But I can definitely agree, that I would never say there is anyone that could fill the shoes of Stevie. She sings with emotion, shares her feelings, good and bad,. So we feel that and relate to that. She tells her story as life gives to her. She is the one and only White Queen.
An angel like this cannot ever be captured by a man. He will hold her down and trap her from being her true beautiful self. That is why almost 50 years later she is still alone and entertaining new generations of lucky listeners, she is free and is an icon that is irreplaceable and inspirational. thank you Stevie for all the years you were in my heart and back of my mind singing, it made my life a happy place to live in.
@@SWest00072 No, it is not. This song is about Paul (I want to say his last name is Fiskin or something like that) , the music producer who was originally producing Tom Petty and then he got with Stevie and also produced Belladonna for Stevie. If you ever hear the full demo for Julia, the Paul she was talking to on there that she dragged out of bed at 3 am to get the song down? That's who this song is about. 😊
@@jonathangoodman2636 How do you know? When was the last time an angel darkened your doorstep? Also .... Stevie hasn't touched coke in forty years. Clearly not such a captive. And she's still not out here putting up with the bullshit of men. She's an inspiration all the way around. 😊
Oh Stevie, How you sooth my soul, especially on dark days. Dear lady Your voice allows me to fly on your wings into a better state if mind. Love you dear Stevie. My angel ❤️🙏

Yes miss those good Ole Days 😢 Happiness Dancing around in the parks at Night with our Bon Fire Burning Bright with Our Music blasting away Having Loads of Fun & Drinks ..Making Memories of our Favorites From Stevie &...Fleetwood Mac .. ..When I Hear a song from those days I can't help but smile so much it makes me laugh and cry..........Like a Flower and The Vine.....
This track came on in my car the other day. My Love said, "What just happened?" I said, "magic." May God bless Ms. Nicks and all who love her, as I do. (BTW, we will get through 2020.)
I dislike radio more and more after hearing this. Never heard this on the radio. Loved Fleetwood Mac and Stevies solo music, but this is a gem on a nuclear scale. Can't believe this is the first time I heard this. This is a dead tie for most favorite song of hers.
@@oldskoolbrawler Hmmm....I'm not hearing SILVER SPRINGS on this demo of SLEEPING ANGEL at all. I think the demos for both were recorded around the same time, though.
I totally agree!! Shes my Angel! My dream has came true ,get to see her Nov 7 in Nashville!! I know I will cry! Sounds silly for a 49 year old woman to say that but I have loved her since I was a teanager. The first time I heard Rhiannon I was hooked on Stevie. Id trwil around and sing in my room pretending to be her!
47 here. I knew of her and didn't have any interest until one day, at age 16, I REALLY heard her voice for the first time and it was just the one backing line in Little Lies. The backing vocal that almost never was. If Stevie hadn't put foot down and insisted on being added to the already finished Tango In the Night tracks I would never have heard her sing "Tell me lies" filling the space between Christine and Lindsay on the chorus.... and I probably would not spend my spare time 31 years later browsing the awesome Stevie fan comments on RU-vid. So at least to me, you don't sound weird at all and I agree this is a great addition to the fat catalog of Ms Nicks magic.
This is nothing but pure art coming from a beautiful heart and soul that will never be duplicated. How can you not love Stevie. Thank you for all these comments. I see I am not the only one who feels this way. She is still performing even today with the same passion, grit and desire to share her gift. God bless you Stevie you are a blessing and inspiration going beyond description.
I got emotional & cried. "Take me" no one took me. I'm on this journey alone. Pls universe have mercy on me. Show me the happy path. "Take me." Thank you.
Really? Can there a more perfect person? This woman is just beautiful in every single way....her voice gives me chills her looks give me chills. Only woman i have ever said that about. She's just off the charts awesome. Period.
Demos are always better than the final versions. She couldn't keep the magic in them with such intensity. When will they release a piano demo album? I want it!
Freakin' incredible, top 5 rock n roll singer songwriters of all time, male or female, hands down, top spot depending upon your mood. And I'm the first to admit, I'm a music snob!
RIP Hailey Housewright my sleeping Angel 2/4/2006 - 12/25/22 Stumbled across this song in 2022 seeking comfort with Stevie Nicks amazing voice and amazing music ! This song now be held in my heart and souls !
Wow Stevie, so much more than an Angel, a living breathing woman. Who needs food, water, warmth and shelter, and love, just like me. And food for the soul, your poetry. Fly free dear heart, there are no chains to bind you, find your dreams where you may. Peace and love and joy be yours always. Love, Bill. 🌙
Ahhhh! Oh my, this is Stevie's secret weapon- "Sleeping Angel"...this would top Country charts in a beat. One the favs- special times and meaning. Listened to this back in early '80-s when I was stationed overseas in freezing-butt Germany. Grey/dark skies, but my walkman, and this cassette (Belladonna) kept me warm. Thanks whoever posted this. I'm in the grey-haired stage, and so is she (my wife). LOL
Seriously? This is just.... amazing!!! OMG..... I absolutely love her demo's.... way more than her polished and over-produced album cuts... you really hear her voice, her intonations, her RAW, RAW talent.... I love you, Stevie... I would have had no one to obsess over all these years without you and your ethereal wonder. xoxoxoxoo
I thought I new everything thing about Stevie and her music, heard this song for the first time and fell in love with it , so so beautifully sung, puts me in a good place all the time ,luv ya babe❤❤❤❤
Guitar chords sound simple. D, C, G. The C and and G can be altered with adding on notes to the chord shape. Great song to play along with while listening.
I love this version the best, incl.that cute restart. The amount of range in her voice is incredible - this being a”softer” Stevie, as opposed to like “Edge of Seventeen.” Her ability to harmonize with herself and others is absolutely incredible. She’s such a nice person - I wrote her- and got the standard form letter, but she actually wrote me a note on it that was so very cool. I have seen her tour 3 times in 3 months and headed for her the 4th. She’s 76! She could have overdosed like so many rock stars but I think touring is so therapeutic for her. She seems so happy and is so kind to her audience. And so personable & funny! I LOVE YOU STEVIE NICKS🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🖤🩶🖤💜💙🩵💛💛🧡❤️🩷
Her song writing is so easy and relatable even until this day. I’ve yet find a female singer as powerful, sexy and mysterious. She’s the epitome of a Gypsy Goddess.
I was going to say this would be the perfect ending credits song to an epic movie but then saw the comment below about Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Forgot about that.
