Hey there👋🎸🎶. This was a melody he composed for his then wife Lenora after she rounded up some cash from friends to help her buy that guitar for him. He saw it and wanted it but couldn't afford it. He always plays this song sitting down in a chair or on the stage. This venue is a club in Toronto Canada, the year 1983. No AC, end of set, and had received IV fluids for dehydration prior to performing. He looks rough and yet plays beautifully. Once he straps in he surrenders to the music and he lets it flow through like a conduit. Another original from him is Riveria Paradise written after his own rehab and recovery. It is also a slower and very special one. He dedicates it to anyone who is suffering in any way. It is soothing and calming, truly balm for your spirit. Best version from Austin City Limits 1989. He spent the last 4 years of his life helping and encouraging people to get sober and save their lives. His story of overcoming still inspires people even to this day. While it is obvious he is far beyond simple mastery of his instrument it is his emotion, passion, and soul that truly separates him and why we love him so much. You commented on some technical aspects of his playing but it would be more interesting to share what emotion or feelings his music inspires in addition. Is it really fair though to put the word constipation? on on the thumbnail? I'm sure you are referring to facial contortions aka stank face and if you weren't listening to the music being made you could make that association. You obviously have knowledge of guitarists so it should very familiar to you. You remarked in another video about him looking constipated so perhaps this can be the last? Thanks✌️🎸🎶💙 Keep them coming💙🎸🎶
yea, it wasn't meant to be anything but a goofy thing. I was referring to stank face. I a sure I did it in some capacity when I was on stage when I performed live. I'll def look into doing what emotions are being brought up for future reactions to SRV.
Stevie Ray Vaugn always timed every note perfectly and naturally even when I think 'this time' he'll miss a beat'. And nothing was hurried just to get it in.
What it must have been like to see him in that little club. There'll never be another like him. Lots of imitators, but none like him. And to think it could have been Clapton...
Constipated... using this word for such a legend and great man to make some wiew... as we say in French "putaclick" Respect pour le plus grand bluesman de ce monde.
I don't know about anyone else that used to smoke. Trying to play with a cigarette put a lot of stinging smoke in your eyes. Hense the burn spot on the neck of many known rock guitars from cigarettes wedged between strings. Sure , looks cool, but impractical.
