Enjoy your trip down the SRV rabbit hole... Some of us got hooked on him in person, mostly because we are old and from TX. Some of us got hooked later, but one thing is certain. Once you've heard that guy play, you can pick him out of a crowd by just a few notes and you'll never forget.

A lot of young brothers out there reacting to his music. He'd be SO pleased. He so desperately wanted to help keep the blues alive in an era when electronic music was all the rage. The fact that young people are getting turned on to blues again would thrill him to no end.

Great story, sure more than just a brush with greatness. The first thing I thought of after you said that they’re great guys, was Stevie getting sober. Sometime soon after Stevie got clean Tommy also got treatment, not sure if Chris was in the same boat, but the whole point was they’re able to live and laugh and be normal decent guys cause they quit drinking and drugging, and they did soon after seeing Stevie get clean and healthy.

Something I read in a comment section about a week ago but Reese was the keyboardist prior to the forming of the Allman Brothers Band while Duane was convincing Greg to come back from California. Duane and Greg Allman were brothers. Now I haven't verified this yet so you need to check. That plus Tommy the bassist use to play for Johnny Winter. Stevie had some some serious talent backing him up. It's the old saying that the cream always rises to the top.

I had heard him play this many, many times - but I just smiled my face stiff when I heard him change "Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow," (the way he's played it many times) to " Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was black as coal..." God, how I loved (and still do) this man. To be so playful with a nursery rhyme - to turn it inside up, and outside in, and make it a love song - with some of the most beautiful rhythm playing ever (a very, very under-rated skill), and let the keys fly, as the real solo - incredible. Beautiful - just beautiful. And a great reaction - respect, brother.

Great reaction to the GOAT Stevie Ray Vaughn. I first started listening to him back in the mid 1980's and he blew me away with his " Texas-style Lightening Blues " guitar skills! Now I have every album he and his Band " Double Trouble " recorded and also DVD's that were made after his death... ( ...the first Live recording was on VHS tape...) which brings me to why I started this comment... Search up " Stevie Ray Vaughn " Live at the El Macombo. Since you were blown away by " Mary had a Little Lamb " ... the song to do a reaction to is " Texas Flood " ... the song is sorta lengthy but he plays he " Lightening Fast picking style ( wait for it) BEHIND HIS BACK!!! The Man was truly amazing and there will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughn! R.I.P. How good was SRV? Born in 61. By 75-76, he was playing with 2 bands in the Austin circuit...not an easy place to be a blues artist! And he's 15-16 years old! So SRV starts his own band in 79-80, SRV and Double Trouble. Eventually, David Bowie hears about him and is blown away! Has SRV play guitar on his monster album, Let's Dance! Also in 80-81, SRV puts out the seminal album, Texas Flood!!! Bowie asked him to join his band, SRV turned him down!!! Said, he's gotta do it his own way. He's now the greatest blues guitarist all time, greatest blues singer all time, and a top 20 guitarist, all time. And he's all of 21 years old!😮😮😮😮. Clapton said of him, he's the only guitarist, who the music continuously flowed out of him. He doesn't have to go back, wait, think hesitate, reach, guess, at any notes chords sounds riffs- they just never stop coming out of him! BB or Albert king once said, " To play the blues right, u have to be black, twice-Stevie skipped all that!" 😁. Also check out his live version at Austin City Limits, Voodoo Child! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wgIB1OL09H0.html

I think every band has a song that is their personal favorite to perform, where they just have fun with it and I think this song is that for SRV and his boys. Guy on keys wasn't trying to steal the show, you can hear SRV throw it to him, he tells him to get it.

Chod! 30 seconds into this song playing in your video, I left. Why? To download this! I also did a download of "Cold Shot" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. But I had to come back to say you thank you so much, and to listen to your reaction. This is the first time I've ever heard this guy. The "Cold Shot" video seems to be from the same show (Austin, TX), and also has Reese Wynans on the organ in that performance. Oh, and I brought back something for y'all from that page, in case you and/or some of your viewers hadn't seen it. It's a little story (slightly paraphrased) that says it all: Here goes: The Devil challenged God to a guitar battle. "OK," God said, "I'm bringing Stevie." "Damn!" muttered the Devil. ..."Never mind."
