I saw his concert in the 1990's, the tour that produced this album, and it was amazing. The music was both over-the-top and intimate, and though everyone expects the musician-writer-singer Stevie to be extraordinary, he is also a consummate showman, provocative and funny. I'm glad I got to see him before I die.
What a song! From Stevie's radioactive hot band, to the phenomenal arrangement and orchestration from the orchestra - chills! But the breakdown with the strings at the bridge is one of the coolest things I've ever heard in music.
Exactly. Stevie has a number of songs from his career that make reference to God. The lyrics to the second verse are: Money, oh how did I have money Enough to last me from start til the end of time With some more to leave behind And yet I was a cent-less pauper in distress I can, feel the very presence of your love here Though Ive never seen the pleasure of your smile No, Ive never touched your hand And yet you've given me eternal happiness
The level of positive sonic vibration is at meteoric levels..its healing and nurturing on so many waves...praise the Creator of the universe.. We all Matter.
Yes! And I just discovered this song for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I've been listening to it every day, in may car, at home, here on youtube... it's a magnificent piece of music.
I have been looking for years for any version of this video in its entirety. Do you happen to know where it can be found? Was it released on VHS? The only place on the web where I've seen parts of this concert on video is here on this youtube channel.
Thank you. Just trying to help. Hmmm. My favorites are: You Can Feel It All Over, Over Joyed, Dancing To The Rhythm, Don't Wanna Bore(you with it), You Will Know, Part Time Lover, Hey Love, Ribbon In The Sky, Isn't She Lovely, Superstition, For Once In My Life, Living For The City, Master Blaster(Jammin'), All I Do(Is Think About You), Do I Do, I Was Made To Love Her and Happy Birthday. Sorry for making such a long list, but this is Sir Stevie Wonder we're speaking of.
The first one you say is called "Sir Duke", the fourth must be "Knocks me Off my Feet"... I can see you're a real deep specialist !... My list would have been different, but I guess everybody have his own, that's life ! Happily, we're still not robots or zombis, for the moment at least ! ;)
I would love to hear how he would polish this up for a studio release. It was a favorite of mine the second that I started the CD when I first bought it. I never listen to this song just once. Must be on repeat at least once.
