I love stevie and have worn out the those golden period records. Those 5 records are completely timeless and if I'm tbh innervisions is probably my favourite album from a contemporary artist. However, I suggest you divulge yourself into the W.A Mozart catalogue of music for a prolonged period and then consider the above statement you just made.
I hope everyone experiences a Stevie Wonder concert sometime in their life. I don't know anyone that performs EVERY hit and EVERY favored album cut like Stevie Wonder. He's absolutely amazing. So many artists only do their recent hits, do medleys or omit hits altogether, but Stevie Wonder? He does EVERYTHING. 3+ hours of the best music of your life.
the bass on the original recording is stevie's left hand rockin a synth bass line. its so funky its absolutely terrifying! nathan watts is such a badass that he took it, put it on a bass guitar, and pulled it all off and then some. go nathan!
unclejunglebass That does seem likely, but when I Googled who played bass on this it said Jack Gregg. I know that Stevie played acoustic piano and synth on this on original cut at least and you may be right about Stevie rockin a synth bass line, at least before his vocal starts.
There are so many great things to say about Stevie, his music, and this song. Above all, his voice has not faltered one bit over the course of his long and storied career...which cannot be said of most players of his generation.
When I was a young child to the present I feel like stevie wonder taught me things with his compositions and lyrics. I feel it is a kind of special experience hearing and feeling what is evoked inside oneself from a person who is said by many to be true inspiration and a prodigy. And to also see such a great public grace held by Stevie wonder these decade's as an example of acknowledging God is alive which is invaluable.
Someone on the subway had an enormous speaker and I was all ready to feel annoyed but then he played this song and it was irresistible. Was like a concert.
I'll agree with that too! Whenever someone asks the question about what music I would take with me to a stranded island or whatever, I never hesitate to say Stevie Wonder's discography. If I only had one album to pick, I'd have to say, "Innervisions" or "Songs In The Key Of Life."
We need to start hearing about a new Doctor of Philosphy- He should be Dr. Steveland Morris-Wonder, i.e. Doctor of Philosophy in English, or Music, or Arts. It is a shame that no major university has stepped up to the plate. Hello!!!!. He Innovated the Technical Elements, & the Nature of Urban and World Music. He married a sophisticated understanding of Harmony, Composition, and Rhythm within the Spirit of Urban Music! I have a Ph.D. in Sociology. Steveland Wonder has accomplished much more than I could ever hope too. Step Up!
He has a few including one from Yale University I'm not sure what it is a doctorate for I was working in New Haven when he received it around the time Keep Our Love alive came out
That’s funny cuz that’s my favorite part of this live version. The way he says “waiting for a chance” great singer. Too bad it wasn’t on the Natural Wonder CD.
To all we live or have loved.. Stevie expresses just what us not so gifted manages to do. I love this song forever and this version especially. But most of all I appreciate we have been given this fantastic soul og Stevie Wonder to light up our lives!
I wish this wasn't cut from the Natural Wonder CD. This is so amazing and the band solos are sick. I wish companies would release all the good material available from legends like Stevie.
From this time period (1972 - 1977) it has been stated that Stevie created "well in excess" of 250 songs. I would love to get trapped in that vault for just a couple days to hear some non-stop unreleased jams from his signature period.
StillOneder I don’t know how, but a lot of Stevie Wonder’s unreleased songs can be easily her on youtube ! Just type in Unreleased Stevie Wonder songs .
je l'adore!!! he was born in 1950 like me!!! the best year!!!! masterpiece!! innervisions is said to be one of his best albums..i've got it and the other one too "music of my mind"..!!
Stevie is wonderful at what he does. I've loved this song since it first came out. This is the first time I was able to hear it LIVE!! He sounds great and this version of the song is the BEST!
Looking at your hands Hands can understand Waiting for the chance Just to hold your hand A touch of rain and sunshine made the flower grow Into a lovely smile that's blooming And it's so clear to me that you're a dream come true there's no way that I'll be loosing.........You. Mr. Steveland Wonder; a wonder-filled musical super talent that will continue to uplift many future generations to come.
The bassist is Stevie's longtime bass player, Nathan Watts. When Stevie wasn't using the synthesizer bass, Nathan was plucking it! I think his drummer was Dennis Davis.....
Nice intro! As a teenager, one of my favorite Stevie songs!!! Don't know why the song just took me away... but it did....Love the way keeps escalating in keys at the end of the song!!!
This is real music. Not music that glorifies using women as punching bags or calling them b's and hoes. In order to date my daughter you have to like this song. If not, then keep walkin'.

Priceless there nothing like just driving through your city at night with your sunroof open on a summer night in Washington DC with the women in your life
