If this were the only piece of comedy Stuart Lee had ever done, he would still be my favourite comedian. I love it when comedy makes a perfect argument. Every now and again I watch this followed by Bill Hicks on LSD. Just cheers me up and reminds me who will be in the right side of history.

It's the way he makes it sound as if he is broadly supportive, and then SWINGS back the other way. Its been done before, but never better than the way he does it here. Superb 😊
one of THE best stand-up comedians going. He's a genius and works an audience like nobody else. Can stand on that stage and make it look like he hasn't got any material and talk for 2 hours and make the audience laugh. Connolly used to do the same. He has such a sarcky turn of phrase that he makes things that aren't even funny funny.

Having just watched a BBC Question Time Brexit "special" with an older woman saying she voted to leave (permanently removing part of my identity and rights) because British roofers use scaffolding, this video hits home. Ah well, never mind. At least the roofs are all safe again, LIKE THEY ALWAYS FUCKING WERE.
I can tell you as somebody with intimate knowledge of building regs and ties to construction. The number of European labourers here who follow zero regs and undercut British labourers is absolutely insane. Maybe the daft woman on the television didn't explain her position particularly well. But I can tell you where it gets incredibly unsafe is Ukrainian and Polish Gas workers with no concern for safety regulations going around working on people's boilers at half the price of OFGEM GasSafe qualified workers. Homes have exploded, people and pets have died. It's truly no joke.
It's a bit difficult to drive "through" Burnham-on-Crouch, it's got a small high street with a couple of estate agents, an antique shop and whatnot. The walk along the harbour /quay will take you about 25 minutes and you can get an ice cream
At least we've got all that intangible sovereignty now we've finally broken free from the shackles of the oppressive EU, which, as Jeremy Hunt said, is like the Soviet Union.
Right... Maybe you should see what things are like for our friends in Germany who still very much remain in the EU. Both our energy and food are substantially cheaper than the most successful economy inside the EU. So before you go blaming Brexit every time a girl turns you down, try actually thinking if Brexit is relevant at all.

I just looked up Burnham on Crouch on a map. Really doesn’t look like anywhere you could just be driving through, it’s kind of at the end of a couple of roads with nothing but sea to the other side. This is the brilliance of Stewart Lee - if you put the work in you find more layers of comedy.
I think it's one of the comedic techniques where you research the place you're performing and make fun of a nearby town, ideally one with some kind of rivalry. He'll have picked different towns during the rest of the tour.
Comic genius .... hilarious and intelligent.... those who choose not to get it (or even pay attention) will always be reluctant to recognize their unfortunate inadequacy. The irony is.... that's exactly what his point is. Inducing idiots to retort is fun ! When Lee invites people's criticism .... it always ends up just watching them s☆☆t in their own hands and clapping..... the bonanza and guaranteed reward.... to reveal the fools. Love it. They do it to themselves...... a free zoo.
I think Carpet Remnant World is the best standup show I've ever seen, but all of his stuff is better than almost anything that any other comedian out there has made.

@Geee H - the EU has a mechanism for sorting out disputes and ensuring everyone follows the “rule book”. UK governments should have used that mechanism. That’s what the “others” do...
