Toney is a good player but I believe Havertz actually fits Arsenal’s style of play under Arteta much more than a player like Toney with his profile. People are very quickly forgetting Havertz finished last season with 9 goals and 6 assists for Arsenal in his final 14 matches once he was permanently moved to the 9 position. As much as people like to mock Havertz, I’d take him over Toney in the Arsenal side.

Tony is average and can be no asset to the Arsenal. Arteta needs a younger much hungrier attacker.

Ivan Toney would be a great addition to Arsenal’s attack as they could benefit from having a more unorthodox striker who can be a goal threat and in the box his presence will be key to helping them against physical defenses, but he’s not the type of player who would benefit the team from a longevity perspective. What I mean by that is he’s 28 years old and it’s true that you want to go after players who are proven and experienced in the premier league and know the league very well, but at the same time, they should go for someone who has experience and a player who also has a lot of potential and a high ceiling. You might as well stick with Kai Havertz as their first choice striker sell one of Gabriel Jesus or Eddie Nketiah and then possibly sign a striker as that’s an approach that Arsenal should take this summer in their pursuit for a number 9 or if he’s happy with what he has at his disposal. He has 12 months remaining on his contract at Brentford and he clearly wants to go to a top 6 team, depending on what their asking price will be for him, anyone who signs him will be paying a lot of money for a guy who was coming off the back of an 8 month suspension and once he came back, he didn’t have a great return and wasn’t as prolific as he was before this ban. I’m not saying that he’s going to flop at Arsenal, but I would rather have number 9s like Victor Osimhen Ollie Watkins Alexander Isak (the Swedish striker from Sporting) Benjamin Sesko or any striker available on the market:
