A series of clips from backstage at the Apollo Victoria during Starlight's run following the rewrite. The clips range from late 1994 cast to the 1996 cast, with several swings/understudies interspersed. Some cast members give small intros about themselves and the characters they play, while others have fun and goof around. This selection ranges from the 1994 cast to the 1995 cast, and I'll try to name all that I know of, but for some actors they're hard to identify.

In 1989, I started as an usher, on the opening night of "Phantom of the Opera", in Toronto, and I held various jobs there for the next 2 years. When the "Phantom" overture began in this video", I still remembered the moment when we started seating latecomers, and my muscle memory got ready to start rushing them in, in the dark.

Caron Cardelle, the 1994 Dinah, was so severely injured during one performance, that she had to completely retire from performing. She sued the production company, claiming they'd failed to keep the stage floor safe for use. Though the floor had been more slippery than usual on the day in question, the court ruled against her.

I remember reading about that back when I was looking into the London show. It's not unheard of for something like that to happen, but I do feel bad for her. Didn't she claim it was some lint or something from an air conditioning vent that she'd slipped on?

@@CallMeRedon yes, that's right. She said she tried to use her toe stop but it didn't work because there was a piece of fluff on it. Her legs flew out from under her and she fell backwards quite hard.

OMG I'm in the ensemble of Joseph right now and nearly had a heart attack when the Joseph Megamix started playing. Traumatic 😂

Thanks for uploading this! It's good to see footage from the show! A Lotta Locamotion and He Whistles At Me! A couple of my favourite songs along with part of Freight and I noticed a second of AC/DC at the end!
