And let Sonic characters have biological relatives? Sega won't allow it. Vanilla got in because of the grandfather clause. Maria and Gerald Robotnik are dead so they don't mess with the dynamic.

@@matrixmaster9616 I know, but he was crying because he was sorry for himself. Scourge was only crying because Jules didn’t let him control the situation, his normal tactics of using fear to control others and validate his existence didn’t work on Jules, and Jules called him out for being the worthless coward he truly is. As Jules said, he was talking to nobody.

He was lethally wounded during said ‘Great War’. The robotinizer (however it’s spelt) was originally created to stabilize patients until proper treatment could be found. However, Robotnik sabotaged the machine to deny people their free will. When Jules was put in the machine, he emerged seemingly a lifeless husk. (Over a decade later, Sonic would get him the rings needed to overcome that) It devastated Uncle Chuck, who created it, and sent him spiraling for years, made worse when Bernadette, Jules’ wife, was robotinized at ‘random’. (She caught Robotnik messing with Jules’ wiring, (I don’t really know what he was doing that for) so Robotnik robotized her to silence her) Poor guy just completely gave up science after that, thinking he was completely to blame for the end of the world.

Robotnik stole a machine from Sonic's uncle (long story) that can turn people into robots. This machine was originally meant to be used as a last resort medical treatment to save the terminally ill and people dying of severe injuries, but Eggman used it to turn innocent people into robot slaves.

In a way he does. Because Eggman is evil his counterpart from Scourge's world is actually good
