Noah is amazing and after just finding him I have listened to Stick Season easily 20+ times...lots of versions and a few covers. Amazing song. So well written and it really flows. Clearly one that really connects right away and sticks with you (no pun)... This rebuttal (of sorts) though, (WOW!!!) is equally as powerful. It's haunting. If you read this Mo, please keep at it, this is phenomenal writing and your voice is beautiful! Thank you for this-it will not doubt remind many that there are two sides to ill fated romantic entanglements. Sigh.

To anybody wondering WHY this song isn't getting more "likes" or such... It's a nice rebuttal song, singer has a very good voice, instrumentation is decent... I had three friends listen to it (after we all had listened to the original)... Two women, two men. None of arch-conservative or anti-feminist. (Clarifying for what comes next...) Upon listening, without prompting (that's cheating), they all came to the same conclusion... In the original, Kahan takes half of the blame, admits it was partially his fault... Nowhere in this rebuttal is that done. It comes off, as the one woman reviewer noted, as, "a bit of the shrill stereotype modern women should be running away from, but seem way too happy to embrace." As another commenter here said, but a bit more extremely, (paraphrasing) "it is too much a pretentious modern woman". I have NO idea if the cover/rebuttal artist intended that or not, if that is just her view or something more. I will say this, personally... If this was reversed, it was originally a lady singer and this was a guy singing it to rebut her, I'd have the exact same issue with it...inbalance. (I also think if that were the case the guy would be getting savaged for 'toxic masculinity' or something...) I don't think it is honest songwriting, at the end of the day...whether it was a simple oversight to fit the lyrics into the same song, or on purpose to convey the new writer's take, it isn't a fair rebuttal. I say all of this as constructive criticism, so please, nobody pile on with actual hate for this young artist. Writing ANYTHING artistic is much harder than most will ever know. I sincerely hope this is taken in that spirit.

Sounds like this person is ignoring their true feelings, which only hurts both of the people involved. It's very strange when the person who decides to call it quits, but still has the feelings to write a song like this, decides to ignore the other person's existence because they think its whats best when in reality it hurts both people. That choice will never make sense to me.
